  1. Bree,

Welcome to Second Life!   I haven't been very creative lately,  but always happy to make new friends.   If you need any help,  feel free to reach out when I'm online.   I'm not an expert,  but always happy to help if I can.

    Wishing you the best!

That's a good idea Kjartan. I have never done that before but I will try it. Thank you.
I should add that I am always leery about editing anything because I'm afraid I'll screw it up.
    BUT  everything is fixable, right?

I always have to edit the "standard" shape they give with the Lelutka heads.  In my limited experience,  the head shape part is perfect,  but there is NO shape to the body.   Just be sure to "save as" when you edit the shape - keep the original,  so if you make a mess you can go back and start over.   It's really not too difficult to edit the body to what you like,  and it can often help with making clothing fit right - so good idea to get comfy with it.  :)   Good luck!

  3. I'll have to come back and read all this slowly ...    some of it sounds familiar and some of it ~~  right over my head!   😲

I do tinker with my settings and sometimes I break things that way - so I try to be very careful.   I want the best performance without doing any damage to my nice new expensive pc.  😁

Thanks to all for sharing your knowledge.   My head hurts now.

  4. I've been watching my complexity lately - noticed a lot of my older jewelry,  some free hair,  etc. was shockingly high in complexity.

I've always been careful with scripts,  but now try to reduce both.

My mesh body is only 5054 ...      I had a free hair that was 56k !    I tossed it in the trash.

I'll give up / be as careful as I can - but I'm not going back to the old system body.  No way Jose!  :)

  5. This was my second avatar.   I've thought about pulling out my first one and fixing her up - but refer to thread about tough times and spending less in Second Life....   :)

Sounds like you might be able to get Lucy back -  sounds like it's worth a try!!!   Good luck.  :)

I see that someone made an attempt to make another thread ... and ended up getting their post merged into this one ... in an utterly nonsensical manner.

So today's peeve: Unneeded thread mergers/title changes.

I saw that,  didn't expect that one to last - not in line with the new "guidelines" .....

Oh ok thanks for the advice, one thing I gotta do is be on more. It's hard to be a some places ,when they just stand there and not talk. Some people call them zombies, for me personally I think there in discord or something.  I even try saying hi in side and nothing. Not all the places, but I'd give an example when Lust was around, not sure if It came back. But they hardly even talk, the majority of my groups are adult groups, like the x rated lol I don't know how to explain that. I've been to clubs, ill probably check more out.

I am a nice guy and I  have patience but on here I need to work on that. I have found a good spot, that has nice music. And always seems packed ,when I get there. Met a few good people there, but I like games as well. Cheesey I think it's called, and some others I like.

Search/Look for     ::TNT:: Greedy Greedy Club    - people from all over,  semi active group chat.....      I'm new there, so not much I can say.

You have to try a variety of clubs.  I've found the most popular are not necessarily the most friendly.

I get the adult thing - but if you want to find a gal,  might have to branch out.  :)

    Best of luck!

Minecraft isn't a pure sandbox in the way Second Life is. As mutable and low-stakes as the objectives are, there are some. Mine and gather resources. Evade enemies. Build. These are understandable goals with some semblance of reward. That people take the humble building blocks and build universes is sort of secondary to what the basic gameplay is.

I love Minecraft,  and it has or had broad appeal [honestly not sure how popular it is these days] - because it's simple.  Yes,  you can dig deeper into it's complexities, but for the average person it's not hard to get the basics down quickly and be able to build away.   Second Life,  which I also love,  is NOT simple.  Especially when it comes to building.  It appeals to the more tech savvy engineer types - who can understand it and be creative here.    IF SL could become more user friendly,  I think it would really help with retention.

I tried to help someone yesterday,  grant it - she didn't seem to really want help - even tho she asked for it.....  but she was very frustrated just trying to get dressed.  :(

Yes to Zooby! I've been using Zooby Cat Avatar for the past 4ish years and I am still feline young! You can get really creative with accessories too (both zooby and nonzooby).

    Adorable!!!!  :)

  10.  I understand your idea,  but think of the additional time that would take....

I'm pretty sure they don't want to add work to their plate and have to moderate the color / temperature of the threads.

I'm with Rowan - when it comes to moderation LESS is better.  :)

People need to put on their manners,  and avoid insults and other such things that get threads closed.

If there is a topic you find especially infuriating - avoid it altogether.

  11. Jason,

You seem like a very nice young man.  Go to clubs that play the kind of music you like,  hang out on a semi-regular basis (it takes time and consistency) and be sure to chat in local.

Join groups for games,  or whatever you like to do - again,   be patient.

Hang out in the forums,  ignore the mean people and get to know the good ones!

I was feeling lonely recently,  and Luna has already shown me 3 places to hang out that are fantastic!       Don't give up.  :)

The first of Eddy's links is the Zooby avatar, not the pet. Zooby does both. Whether they sell both in their inworld store, I dont know, but they certainly have both on the MP.

Agreed :)    I have the Zooby Cat Avatar:

A bit old,  never seen any updates and a bit expensive for it's age - but from looking, still seems to be the best around.
