Yes, same for me, friend list on my.secondlife.com is not up to date. In-world all is well, with the exception of the web based profile stuff coming from my.secondlife.com, of course.
I am afraid this may just be one of those things that will eventually 'fix itself'.- 1

No problem here going from 3.5.1 to 3.5.2.
I use OpenDNS (see https://store.opendns.com/setup/) and have never seen these name resolution (DNS) problems that are often reported here.
Hope this helps -
Amen to that.

You should ask firstmetaexchange.com.

I really enjoyed watching this. Thanks for sharing your work.

That is precisely how it worked for me!
I feel decalcified and degriped, my day is improved. Thank you

Coffee advice from Melita, perfect!

What happens when you try? Please describe, are perhaps any error messages shown?
Ah yes, the obligatory notice, please append to your first post by clicking Options > Edit

I have not tested it, but you might want to try editing the teleport history file, judging by the name, that might be where this information is stored.
On my PC, teleport_history.txt is located in the same directory as the chat logs etc.: C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\SecondLife\<SL user name>

Ich glaube die Altersangabe findet heute nur noch bei der Erstanmeldung statt, also wenn ein neues Konto eingerichtet wird. Zumindest sehe ich keine andere Moeglichkeit.

That has nothing to do with SL or the SL Viewer, but refers to your access and privileges on the computer you are trying to install it on.
You have to install the software using an account that has administrator access to the computer. Likely you have to log on using another account or have another person install the software for you.- 3

Well, I guess it is based on people's browsing habits
I see some ads for Versu, but mostly things related to items I have recently shopped for on the web, so clearly targeted. Hehe -
Henceforth, the hoax busters service shall be known as ... SLopes!

Amen!

Hard to answer any such question without even knowing in what jurisdiction you are.
Not that SLs board is a good place to ask for tax advice regardless of where you are.

The SkyDrive problem is one that occurs when uploading and/or downloading files, it does not affect the launch or log on process to SL.
I use Win8, SkyDrive and SL just fine, with the exception of the known file up-/download issue.
Not sure what to tell you about the display driver issue, if you are up to date and still get that prompt, sorry. Perhaps worth trying a more recent driver that may be available as beta but not yet fully released?FH

If you have the password stored in the web browser as you say, then you should be able to read it from the browser's password store.
For example in Firefox go to Options > Security > Saved Passwords or for IE, at least on my PC, go to Control Panel > Credential Manager.
Hope this helps- 1

And just to clarify/elaborate, no Second Life viewer, whether from Linden or from a third party is available as a "New UI" style app from the MS Store, so for those running Windows 8 RT, sorry, no can do.

While I am not certain about it, I am pretty sure that the start screen tile was automatically created when I installed the SL viewer on my Windows 8 PC.
If the start screen tile is missing, it is quite simple to add it:
- right-click on the start screen, then click on 'All Apps' in the bottom tool bar.
- In this screen of all apps, find the Second Life viewer, for example by simply typing 'sec'.
- right click the icon to select it, then click 'Pin to Start' in the bottom tool bar
Done.
I have not run into even the slightest problem with the client install or SL in general on my Windows 8 PC.
Hope this helps.

What forces you to update? Do you realize that is a setting you can control:
Me > Preferences > Setup > Software updates : Download and install updates manually
Links to older client downloads can be found in the prior release notes, see http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Category:Release_Notes
Download 3.3.3 from http://download.cloud.secondlife.com/Viewer-3/Second_Life_3-3-3-260300_Setup.exe

Hi DarkAngel,
Ask in the forum, get your answer in the forum, it's how it works.
The way to know how many accounts someone has is to ask them. Of course they might lie. In other words, there is no reliable way to know for sure.

microsoft surface pro

Knowing how warm the Surface Pro gets when running games that are much less demanding, graphically, I'd be cautious not to overheat it.
I am not running SL on mine, but technically it works fine - with the right drivers and realistic expectations, re. graphics capabilities and WiFi connection.
