  1. Well, i never call the linden lab LOL never ever. its just a friend of mine wanted to know the same thing and he asked me, i said wtf idk , call the lab. He did and told me. Thats the story why i know it . The enhancements thing is a matter of opinion because its not working as good as on xstreet, but its working (now). Some are happy with it, others not. Maybe check the stats after 4 weeks and decide if its worth it the 2899 any longer.

I have spent a few days literally sitting in front of my computer for over an hour repeatedly scrolling thru all the feature items, refreshing & scrolling again, basically doing this over and over. I have seen the same item from other creators show up over & over again but my item has never shown up. Its just not possible to show everything to everybody at the very same time because there are not only a few homepage featured listings. There are tens of thousands. You must be quite lucky to see your own item there. But while you dont see it , others will definitely see it. You can check your listing enhancement reports to see the real impressions and click throughs (last day/week/months) BabyLuv Lane wrote: Also, the "Transaction history" in my account shows that a customer of mine had made a purchase on 2/28. But when I look at the "Reports, Orders" section, I see that it shows the same customer making the purchase on 3/6 and not on 2/28. My customer actually made the purchase on 3/6 so the "Transaction history" is wrong. Anyone else have these problems? The customer added the item on 2/28 to the cart but completed the transaction on 3/6. Source: Friend who called the linden lab support personally.
  3. The best way is to make the review function more visible on the website. And a little reminder which invites the customer kindly to rate the product would help. This reminder should also explain in one sentence why a review would be so helpful for everybody and that it’s a good thing. So, come on LL.
  4. Right. There is no way to prevent gaming entirely. BUT its LL's responsibility to reduce gaming as good as possible. And compared with xstreet its a wide open door. Xstreet: It wasn't possible to rate a product more than one time from the same machine (with alts). Marketplace: Now you can. Xstreet: All ratings during a promotion sale were removed once you increased the price. Marketplace: Now you can gather ratings on a low price and you may keep all these ratings when you increase your price. Xstreet: 1-click star rating was allowed. For that reason a system like rewarder had never been invented. Marketplace: Now because only written reviews are allowed we have the first device to manipulate the relevance... They said they want ONLY written reviews! But now they get ONLY written fake reviews! And here is my business plan: Im gonna create hundred alts and offer my "Rating Service" to you (Of course you pay the sales + LL's commision + my fee). 100 sales + 100 unique reviews guaranteed. How much would you pay for a top rank . . .
  5. In my opinion they have to ban it . I simply call it cheating because all these ratings are not real. And a marketplace full of fake reviews cant be serious. I personally hope that the LL is not going to allow this behavior any longer! I see new published products on the marketplace using the rewarder system and only a few weeks later this items have 40 or even more ratings. Well, since the marketplace allows only written reviews and only very few people write reviews, a new item usually needs years to get the same amount of ratings! Years!!! So its all in all pretty unfair. I m happy that i closed my business long before... Waiting for better times.. Probably waiting forever.. You can be sure that rewarder would never survive on a xstreet based rating system including 1-click star rating! But this reminds me of the words of Brodesky Linden:"Sorry this is how it's going to be, we want written reviews with ratings." Epic FAIL.
  6. Well, first of all I’d say its time for the LL to take action on these rewarder cheaters. Just to show us goodwill. But I wouldn’t shift the blame on other merchants. You can always talk about prices or price gaming, competition or unfair competition, economy and stuff. Its discussable for years but that will come to nothing. Since its not illegal to offer a product for a low price or a promotion price its pretty pointless to discuss it.. The main problem is the way the new marketplace handles it! Specially the relevance filtering and the rating. That’s the point! (Ok there are thousand other points as well but that’s another story) Look at good old Xstreet. Just for instance, what happened with a low priced promotion sale ? Yeah, I guess the merchant was very happy about the short time profit, the traffic and the best advertising for his other (more expensive) products at the same time and probably for the star ratings. Good! (As seen above, Forni’s post) once he cut the promo and increased the price for more than 50% , the star ratings were gone (hidden) again. So no advantage in ratings. Plus the important thing, the item didn’t reach the top ranks of the relevance search so easily. So I guess everybody was happy with that way because it was pretty much fair! So I would say the question is: what was the reason of xstreet’s closure ? Would be interesting to me. Replacing a well working, fraud-proof system with a ridiculous beta version of “e-commerce”. Yes 6 months later its still a beta version because we are still talking about real major bugs! As Ive said many times before, the marketplace is not an improvement so far, it’s a major step backwards. Alone the fact that everybody is able to create 100 alts to rate their own items while ratings are obviously very important for the relevance ranking makes me laugh. But not because its funny…… Because its stupid! My suggestions are as usual the same ones. Please LL learn from your old xstreet to improve this problem child finally. Do not learn from ebay. Real life commerce is completely different! And please do not wait too long!
  7. Yes this rating system is a real pain. The badest i have seen worldwide. But i think LL is not willing to change it. They think its not so important but they are completely wrong! A good rating system is a very powerful "weapon" in e-commerce. Actually it plays a major part for buyers and It will definitely help the merchants with sales and future sales. And a feedback or constructive criticism could always help to improve items and/or services for the next time. Im talking to many merchants every day (doing advertising for them and other marketing stuff) and yesterday a merchant told me that he has sold an item over 2500 times on the marketplace. And he got laughable 4 reviews so far. Well, the fact that such a disastrous rate is possible should be alarming! 4 of 2500 possible ratings... Less than 1 %. Not bad :-) . Even if it were 40 of 2500 it would be a farce. Comparable with migrated XstreetSL items with their hundreds or thousands ratings it's just unfair. My suggestions to the LL: 1. Allow star ratings without leaving a review again. Why only written reviews ? You are not ebay! and / or 2. Make the review option more visible (also for newbies). The keyword is: User friendliness ! and / or 3. Include a little reminder which pops up when there are 10 unrated items in the order history! 4. <<< Edited to avoid misunderstanding >>>
