  1. The lack of protected water regions adjacent to the borders of most stilt regions is a sad fact.

No way to navigate safely unless you go on a file.

Guess Air transport are much better served to reach the spot where they will connect to Satori or nautilius.

Should not be more cheaper with the cloud to have more protected water regions?

  2. it will be a lot of fun to navigate around them, if owners set sec orbs properly. Cause there is not a lot of room to sail without risking getting inside ones terrain.

For sure an area where privacy can not be the main reason to get one, they can be really good for those that does not mind letting others visit their spots and dont use sec orbs or set them for at least 15 sec.

Perhaps a much better place for community users, that enjoy the company or the visit of others.

I wasn't interested in getting one and seeing the finished regions hasn't changed my mind.  It just isn't a style that I'm interested in and the landscaping definitely does not provide the privacy that I can get with some of the other homes.

    So true.

It is a maze, lol. lots of time one can take to navigate around them.

  4.  Those old enough on Belli to remember when we didn't had a choice of choosing, but to wait at least for 2 months before we would grab the 1st available spot, can find the GOH invigorating.

Now we can even bother to abandon in hope to get a better spot, some that on the 1st 6th months was out of question.

And i having a house boat was not in my priorities but after i got the one i think is placed on the best area for them at http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Esper/140/172/27 i doubt  Im going to play GOh for a long time.

Time is money. Not everyone can afford to hire a good quality riggers like some big brands do, so instead of rigging clothes to unpopular bodies people spend their time on creating new things.

And what monopoly? Or it's going to be another conspiracy theory of how "bad bad Onyx doesn't handle dev kits to anyone who makes things for other bodies" ? it was quite popular back in the days. But as Legacy's example shows - it's as far from the truth as it gets. it's possible to get a huge chunk for the market even with such awful reputation as TMP has, even with numerous issues and terrible web based HUD. And "suddenly" creators are interested to make for more bodies, because there's a big demand for it.

Voting rally is a thing, yes. Lately mostly seen for that Kupra body. Which is as niche as it gets, but still being heavily pushed towards mainstream with constant choir of "kupra pls" on flickr comments. I guess they did learn from TMP's strategy, but not sure how far it'll get them.

But other than that surveys sometimes actually have two choices, something like "most worn body" and "favorite body". Maitreya always wins both, 1st by a landslide, 2nd as well, but there are smaller gap between 1st and 2nd/3rd places, which are taken by Legacy and Freya these days if not count petite/perky versions.

And I agree that surveys in general are not very accurate. Although if a creator makes sizes for all mainstream bodies for years, like Blueberry does, and there's zero need to do extra voting there, they are *somewhat accurate* I suppose. At least as far as active SL users and fashionistas go. I assume vast majority of SL population doesn't bother with flickr, blogs, survey and similar things. And, like you said, just use what got most clothes for and/or what they like the most, or just what they got long ago (it's a rather big investment for some people). I still see hordes of Catwa Catyas in world, while its age (and it being pretty much 1st *big* bento head ever released) shows, while there's almost none left if go by flickr pictures.

I must agree with the catwa, i only have a body, isis and a head, catwa , Ine of the 1st models, Helena to be more precise.

  6.

On the terrible Year that has been 2020 LL decided to advance with  lots of structural  changes that would impact users.

We all can agree some of the implementations need to be done and where in fact needed asap.

But RL takes always precedence and this Year, more then ever before, pushed users resilience to its limits.

All over the World, people just wish to get some peace of mind and SL should be a safe heaven for those.

Sadly, it is not been the case and for that We must consider that the timing for the so needed changes was a terrible damaging one for LL reputation.

  7. Taken from Inara Pey blog

The FPS drop might be EEP related – there is a noticeable drop in EEP viewers as a result of Linden Water plane rendering problems (themselves apparently the result of a “fix” by linden Lab for water reflection flashing issues). As noted in the article, there is a means to “correct” this (Preferences → Graphics → Rendering → Occlude objects for water distortion map); however, while this can eliminate the performance drop, it can re-introduce a the flashing reflections issues.

  8. So far so good.

I had a hard time to figure how to close the floating camera after creating a setting until i found out that is under avatar tab, lol.

The camera floater could have the option to close it on the floater itself.

    But is a real improvement.

AS for EEP settings; i made my own and ported them to the New viewer. As soon as i choose the option apply only to myself, they start showing on the quick preferences tool under sky.

    Same with the water set.

Found out how to get variations on the shadows incidence via quirk preferences, personal lightning:)
