  1. I'm in a pickle and have no idea how to fix this issue so any help would be appreciated. I accidentally clicked this (Mottled Brown): And now I can't figure out a way to remove it. When I have BOM on my eyes look like this: And without BOM enabled they look like this: I can't for the life of me figure out how to completely remove these eyes as they are always seen behind my eyes when I look a certain way. Help, please?
  2. I made the mistake of going to a welcome area because it was advertised as newcomer friendly. I thought, hey! I'm a newcomer! and marched my merry way over to it. Upon landing, I was greeted by an auditory assault of many voices, arguing and cursing one another out. I quickly left. I wasn't sure if maybe I just happened to land in at the wrong time, but it seems if this thread is anything to go by that these places are just pretty bad in general. I'll avoid them in the future.
  3. Everyone has given me great advice. I truly appreciate it and since I still have a little over 1000 lindens left, I might just invest that little bit into some tops and jeans, as some have suggested!
  4. Thank you very much for such a clear and well-thought out reply. This is my favorite part. I will do my best to take it to heart.
  5. I'm less than a week old and with much effort and help from two friendly people (and Youtube) I was able to put together a nice avatar. I'm now afraid to touch anything because I don't want to mess it up. (baked on mesh took me what seemed like hours to understand!) I also found a really cute outfit that I adore. It's nothing flashy but it really suits my avatar I think. If I were playing an MMORPG I wouldn't bother crafting/buying another outfit once I found 'the one' and normally in those games no one cares. But I know Second Life is a lot different so I have what might be a silly question. Are you expected to have numerous outfits for your avatar, and is it weird to only have one or two that you rotate? I might buy another outfit just as an alternative, but I really don't see myself being a shopaholic now that my avatar is set up. I also noticed a couple of people with their avatar's profiles reading things like "mesh avatars only" and "be well put together" notations about people who want to reach out to them. Despite watching Youtube videos I don't know the culture of Second Life very well yet and don't want to find that my lack of wardrobe hinders me from making acquaintances or friends. How does this forum feel about this?
