  1. Thanks Coffee - I'll try a few of these. I've never heard of Catznip. Thanks for the link.
  2. Well, THAT's too bad. Firestorm is sluggish for me, but I own land on the Mainland. The ability to de-render is a survival skill there. So back to Firestorm. Thanks Rowan.
  3. This question probably exists somewhere here but I can't bring it up in search. Can I de-render objects with the Second Life Viewer - even temporarily? If so - how? Thanks in advance.
  4. The De-render feature on Firestorm is what keeps me running this viewer. If you are a land owner on the Mainland it's almost imperative if you have any aesthetic sensibilities at all.
  5. Thank you Lindal. The "Everyone" Title seems to over ride all other role titles. If I leave "everyone" blank, the tag is blank. I can't eliminate the everyone role either. What am I missing?
  6. Hello All, Maybe this is a stupidly simple one - but as I am also Stupidly Simple I need help. How do I change the wording on my Group's Visible, Overhead Member Tags? Currently they are set at the default "Owner" and "Member." Thanks in advance. WTB
  7. Good Idea. As an update, I roamed the area watching the statistics panel (particularly the Physics Time). I own two parcels side by side but the property line sits on a sim line. The water side has the boat in question and the elevator - the rest is waterfall, wood walkways and some rocks. The other parcel has my house and got the bulk of my attention - furniture; stream; pond, plants, etc. On the house side Physics Time sits at 0.245 + or -. On the water side it runs constantly at 6.5 - 7.0. I picked up everything I thought might be an issue but the numbers stayed constant at that level. While roaming I think I found my region's version of the spinning meteor property. I don't doubt I'm adding to the problem - but I'm somewhat relieved that I don't THINK I'm the cause.
  8. Yeah I see. It's really interesting to watch that statistics panel. I really appreciate knowing about it. I'm starting to get a better idea what is happening and how this all works (emphasis on "starting") - I still don't know what the heck I'm doing really. But I didn't understand "physics" and what that meant exactly. I thought in the case of my elevator that it would only have an affect when it was running - which is almost never. But I guess physics applies to structures and the ability to enter the structure as well? So I did a little more digging and the pier set I bought, to dock my expensive Italian Motor Boat along side, included a dock house with fireplace, dock junk, cot, chair, etc. Very picturesque but a prim and physics monster apparently. I removed it and the boat functions perfectly - no problem. That was a surprise. I'm guessing maybe my neighbors are a little happier now that it's gone too. (Although - a bobbing and swirling gigantic comet you say? hmm maybe....) Thanks again very much for your help, Rolig!
  9. Hi Rolig, Thanks very much for this. I see what you're saying - I am running 6.289 ms Physics Time; 8.680 ms Script Time - 6.133 ms Spare Time. On my total script load for the parcel. I see I have some stupidly script heavy but insignificant pieces. If the size column is an indication of it's script load, there are several stupidly high chairs from the dock set that are removable and a lot of lanterns I dropped in. I would like to keep the elevator; waterfalls and the boat - so I'll try removing some of these other things first (or finding lower load alternatives) and see how I do. TMI I realize. I think I understand the script issue but I'm not clear on my physics load. The Elevator and boat are the only things that use physics, no? The Waterfalls are just animated textures and the rest are non moving props - walkways, lanterns etc. Am I not understanding this? Thank you very much for your explanation. It is very helpful. I know I've loaded this parcel. Now it's time to be a responsible adult and purge a few things. WTB
  10. Hello All, I'm looking for help on a script/land resources issue. I bought a Garda Tristar-R V1.2 Motor Boat and all seems OK until I try to drive it. I can place it on my water, uncover and board it, remove the fenders, turn on the lights and start it. Sounds function properly - but when I try to drive it I get this script warning: "Can't enable physics for object -- insufficient land resources." I am on a hillside property to water; have a waterfall and elevator - all function properly. Is there something I can do or is this an issue with the load the boat requires to run being too great for my land? Thanks very much in advance. WaitsThomasBatriani
