  1. Well if you want a nice water view of this artifact - come and get it. We are abandoning it right now..... http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Hammond Park/10/20/29
  2. Thanks everyone. Seems like there would be some sort of solution after all these years: IF (current-region-water not-equal default) THEN render differently....but I'm just an avatar and not a programmer.
  3. Mermaid Frolic is fine for me, but if i go to Peu Corner and look back at Mermaid Frolic we see this:
  4. How about Gentle Grove facing east? Basically anywhere on that island on the east side of original bellisseria. There are bunch of lakes with linden water at a higher elevation than the ocean.
  5. It's still broken. You have to be IN the region with higher water looking at regions with a lower water level. We still see it in Hammond. What view are you using. I'm Firestorm, latest version.
  6. And here is another especially significant example. From the top of the Barton Dam looking north you see a huge artifact that represents the difference in water level between top and bottom. I suppose the real solution is a change in the way all the viewers renders a water level mismatch. Seems like treating the difference with transparency might be better than that ugly blue line.
  7. After weeks of GoH, we got a lovely water front traditional, but didn't know about the problems with the Hammond Park region. We contacted support and they acknowledged the issue as something that can't be fixed. The lovely waterfront view has this nasty artifact in it which is unaffected by draw distance. Apparently there is a lake in the middle of the region with a water level of about 26 meters. This is higher than the surrounding ocean, so when rendered the difference in water level causes the artifact. According to support there is nothing that can be done. Oh well...back to the drawing board. After we abandon this, if you get it next you'll know what this artifact is all about. Happy hunting!
  8. Me too, but nothing yet on Gridstatus....not just you.
  9. Yes Ayla, i do that now, but it's the same between 2 premium or 1 premium plus - so it's a wash between them....same effect.
  10. So on the back of a napkin, thinking of it on a pure annualized basis comparing 2 premium accounts vs. 1 premium plus assuming you pay annually to reduce cost to the max: 2 Premium 1 Premium Plus $199/year $249/year 7200 stipend 7800 stipend (assuming you are not grandfathered at a higher rate...I am not) 2048 tier 2048 tier For $50 more you get 600 more lindens (plus a signup of 3000), so 3600 lindens more which are worth about $13 if you buy them out right. So for 50-13 or $37 USD you get more groups, and free texture uploads. This assumes the base price of premium does not change.....a big if IMHO. I'll wait to see the official announcement.
  11. The pictures may not be the stellar quality of the replies the proceed me, but the fun sure was good. I had no idea a plane could make such a great surfboard, even in the pipeline....and we didn't even get wet!
  12. As has been oft suggested now that the other continents are connected I would love to be able to see Gaeta I accessible as well. I recently did the grand tour from Heterocera to Jeogeot to Gaeta V, dreaming of same day being able to hit them all in one trip. After Patch's talk during SL Birthday a few weeks ago, it seems highly unlikely that Gaeta I would ever be attached due to higher costs on AWS, however it if was moved there would be no additional region instances required. There's a nifty space right below Gaeta V as shown here. There's even space to the east in the unlikely event that Gaeta 2, 3 & 4 ever wanted to be finished. I'm sure this and things like it have been suggested before. But hey, doesn't hurt to ask, right? Pretty please with sugar on top, whipped cream and a cherry? Cheers, Bahama Joe
  13. Wow - thanks for making this map. I've always wondered what that unfinished area might look like. Those of us up here on Gaeta I have come to love our quiet, and largely undiscovered corner of the grid. One of my neighbors put up small replica of San Francisco on Untersberg and some of the coastal properties are nice. You can rez a boat or floatplane over on Blinter in the far northeast and sail or fly counter clockwise around our little continent. If we see you sail by from the beach, we'll be sure to shout out a warm hello. Even if these Gaeta islands are never finished, it would be nice to connect our southern coast to the now-connected continents to our south. If that happens we might even put out a bar for thirsty explorers looking to make a grand tour of all the continents. Cheers and happy exploring :)
