  1. One thing I know for sure is I won't buy it if there [are] dictator conditions like price limits.

Until recently, courts treated minimum resale price policies differently from those setting maximum resale prices. But in 2007, the Supreme Court determined that all manufacturer-imposed vertical price programs should be evaluated using a rule of reason approach. According to the Court, "Absent vertical price restraints, the retail services that enhance interbrand competition might be underprovided. This is because discounting retailers can free ride on retailers who furnish services and then capture some of the increased demand those services generate." Note that this change is in federal standards; some state antitrust laws and international authorities view minimum price rules as illegal, per se.

Q: One of my suppliers marks its products with a Manufacturer Suggested Retail Price (MSRP). Do I have to charge this price?

A: The key word is "suggested." A dealer is free to set the retail price of the products it sells. A dealer can set the price at the MSRP or at a different price, as long as the dealer comes to that decision on its own. However, the manufacturer can decide not to use distributors that do not adhere to its MSRP.

Q: I am a manufacturer and I occasionally get complaints from dealers about the retail prices that other dealers are charging for my products. What should I tell them?

A: Competitors at each level of the supply chain must set prices independently. That means manufacturers cannot agree on wholesale prices, and dealers cannot agree on retail prices. However, a manufacturer can listen to its dealers and take action on its own in response to what it learns from them.

Many private antitrust cases have involved a manufacturer cutting off a discounting dealer. Often there is evidence that the manufacturer received complaints from competing dealers before terminating the discounter. This evidence alone is not enough to show a violation; the manufacturer is entitled to try to keep its dealers happy with their affiliation. Legal issues may arise if it appears that the dealers have agreed to threaten a boycott or collectively pressure the manufacturer to take action.

Q: I would like to carry the products of a certain manufacturer, but the company already has a franchised dealer in my area. Isn't this a restriction on competition?

A: Under federal antitrust law, a manufacturer may decide how many distributors it will have and who they will be. From a competition viewpoint, a manufacturer may decide that it will use only franchised dealers with exclusive territories to compete more successfully with other manufacturers. Or it may decide that it will use different dealers to target specific customer groups

Why does it matter that they keep replying to you while you have them blocked? Why do they need to be informed that they're being ignored, isn't ignoring them enough?

It might not matter to others when things are said about them that are not true but I'm pretty sure it's upsetting to have those lies believed and that does matter.

If you have never been hounded on a forum (not SL) by someone constantly replying to every post of yours they can find for no other reason than to bad mouth you because you disagreed with them and it goes on for months, years even...

I shouldn't need to point out that some people take every advantage and opportunity to be malicious or just plain nasty towards those who have disagreed with them.

I probably mentioned it here before, and I know it sounds pathetic, but I like to make pretty female avatars to look at because I don't have a girlfriend in real life.

I did try once but my "ideal mate" does not exist. Society doesn't accept people like us because they can't let go of their imagined reality and live in the heart of a cloud.

I hate sky noise, yeah. Before Hurricane Katrina, the sky was always orange over my town. Lights at night and dust. Total obscuration of the stars.

After Katrina, it was clear-ish for maybe a year.

I went to Arkansas to visit a friend who lives in the hills, and I saw the sky that night and I didn't even want to sleep inside. I hadn't seen so many stars since I was little.

You want to see stars? Head for the desert; Arizona, New Mexico, Colorado, Utah... the Four Corners.

I didn't say blocking was mean spirited but one doesn't need to post that they are blocking or continually blocking someone on the forum.  Would that not be the same as engaging with them. If you want to block someone don't respond to any of their posts or what's the point?

The same point in blocking someone when the person you block constantly replies to your posts even though you can't see the posts. If they are not informed, they rarely notice because they are too busy creating havoc to pay attention. That's putting it nicely.

    Just wondering.

My step-siblings do not use Second Life.

I hope not. If my only surviving sibling is in SL, I don't want to know. I don't want him to know I'm in SL because he would deliberately make it even more miserable and lonely. My brothers weren't the sort to stand up for or protect their little sister. They bullied her instead, spreading rumors so the other kids would hate me.

Peeved. Tea cups go empty too fast, and when making a kettle it goes cold as I forget to refill. And using a thermos isn't an option as it somehow makes it taste like monkey bathwater.

Try a hot pot or coffee urn.

Bunn does make a model for home use.

The only issue with the Bunn is if you don't use it for a while, the heated water evaporates so best to turn it completely off if you don't use it every day. It takes about 15 minutes for it to heat back up.

I can add Opera to Brave on the list of browsers that simply won't connect to anything any more.  One moment I'm happily using Opera, the next any connection is reset.  There's nothing in my Anti-Virus or Firewall to forbid them.  I haven't changed anything.   This is what I see.

Try rebooting modem. If your modem is 4/5 years old, it's past time to replace it. Contacting your ISP for support is likely your best bet since this is a connection/hardware issue, not software.

Nope, that will not happen. For me it was just a brain fart this morning. There ends my contribution for now. SL and the forums take already too much time of my life as it is. I like the idea of participating in both events, but I will not play a role.

This is one of those times I am thankful for being so easy to forget. At first it hurts but then I realize the bullet(s) I've dodged. I have no interest in being at the bottom of the dog pile when some little thing goes wrong. Not to mention all the times people think they know my mind when in reality they are way off base.

There aren't enough people here for it to be considered anything major.

One of the terms for SL used to be "closed environment". Makes sense that the forum for SL would also be a "closed environment".

Forums/bulletin boards/IRC are what we had before there was social media like My Space, FB, Instagram, Discord, Twitter, and Reddit.

I think perhaps a lot of projection is usually the result of trying to interpret the intention of others.  If we let go of trying to understand the intention of others I do believe there is less projection occurring.  Being that we are prone to trying to gather the intention of others around us as a survival mechanism, it is difficult to do.

It is doable though, I mean no matter what our own views will be biased, our own interpretation of others will be formed in our own head, so there will always be some level of projection involved.  What I think is important, is just acknowledging that we are inherently flawed, not omniscient and despite what many of us think, often wrong (besides me, I am never wrong!).

Here for evidence, we can see projection occurring.  The mouse is clearly upset with the cat, because the mouse believes the cat is after his cheese...  Meanwhile, the cat is just tripping balls from the catnip she had taken earlier, and is pondering the meaning of life.

Okay, enough of my nonsensical pseudo thoughts, with absolutely no basis in reality but formed almost entirely out of boredom 🙃

most of those ar far past their lifetime, should be closed and end the endless repeating posts.

The same could be said for the vast majority of SL only related threads. Twenty years of the same topics being brought up over and over and over again.
