"Not sure I've seen the term "painterly avatars" in common currency, but it captures a real category worth highlighting. Thanks to excessively detailed mesh bodies, most Second Life avatars tend to creep way too far into ultra-realistic territory for my taste, and paradoxically, feels less believable. (It's like trying to get emotionally engaged by a high-end fashion model in a Vogue or GQ spread.) Whereas painterly avatar stylization evokes more uniqueness, personality, and the implications of a backstory." Read more on the blog.

"Today I am showing some new items from Ariskea, the lovely hanging leaf bed is just heavenly. The climbing rose arch is not part of the set, that is a separate item that I mixed in. The Woodlawn set includes the bed, basket table, fur rug, curtains, snake plant, ceiling lamp and the sunrise decor. I love the wood texture on these items, and beige colors of the pillows and spread are soft, neutral and really go well with most other color schemes." Read more on the blog.
