  1. Hi all, I'm back from a few months ago with a similar request. I have a SL friend that wants a hairdo like one she had back in school. Here is an image. The two keys are UPDO and BANGS. It's easy to fine Up Does but trying to find one with bangs has defeated us.So I have two questions. First, does anyone know where I might find this style. Failing that can anyone share some hair makers that have a large selection of Up Do styles?
  2. I knew some of this but not the majority of it. So thanks for the info. With all the help I am getting I am "heading" for a good head I think. Grin.
  3. Hi Nextio, I have a Lelutka DEMO that I will start playing with this afternoon. I have a couple of Maitreya Omega kits. Apparently there are different kinds of Omega kits for Maitreya so I am not sure how to use those (e.g. some Omega kits require they be installed the entire time while others let you remove them after you have used them). I will buy the appropriate Lelutka skin applier once I know which version to buy. Perhaps you can advise on both the type of Lelutka and Maitriyea kits I need.
  4. My apologies about the double post. Someone wrote this to me: "You might want to take a look at the Your Avatar forum (and post your question there as well)." When I tried to remove it I found there are no options to remove posts (understandable in forums). So I am just letting everyone know I apologize for the basic violation of typical forum etiquette.
  5. Hi Matty, It is now my plan to get a fully functional LeLutka head. So when I went over to their store to find a candidate from which to purchase a DEMO , I was surprised there were only eight choices (at least that I could find). Since mesh heads have far less ability to change shape I expected many other products of varying shapes to start from. Luckily I found a very good match to the head I want to create. Any thoughts on that?
  6. Thanks to everyone to such quick replies and great comments. Sylvia, - Thanks for suggestion of Your Avatar Forum Skell,- Thanks for the details on bentp kali, Thanks for info on Lulutka. Now I am leaning toward it.
  7. I am fast tracking my education in mesh bodies and have finally decided to put my dainty toe in the water of mesh heads. I have decided CATWA is the way to go, not because of its quality (although that seems top-notch), but because of the number of companies that produce products for the CATWA head. I see that there is a wide range of CATWA heads. I assume that any particular CATWA head is a basic mesh head accompanied by a shape and a skin overlay? Such that If I started with an Indian (i.e. India) head I could use the same head for an African head just by changing shapes and skin. Is that accurate or is there something in a CATWA head the limits where I take it if I want to change it?

  9. Well, Kathy is my alt. My main avatar is 13 years old in SL so I have been around the block more than a few times. I love Kathy. She is much more centered on my present life than my main character who is based on an interesting person from a century ago. 😉👍
  10. Thanks for the wealth of resources on retro hairstyles. I am always in need of those because I am emotionally stuck in the 60's and 70's. DOUX Zoe is my perfect solution for #1 and it sounds like the starter hairstyle is going to be my answer for #2. Interesting that no one has suggested a solution for #3. I thought that would be an easy one to find in the discount/retro areas. I guess not.
  11. Thanks for that. I don't know why I prefer inworld shopping (except when I am in a hurry) but your view makes sense and I will adopt it, Thanks for saving me a trip to a therapist,
  12. Sorry for the above post. I wanted to edit it but somehow posted it instead. I cannot delete it since it has been posted, So I will continue with what I had intended to say to Elora... Elora, you wrote "FYI as far as I know there aren't creators that do custom hair". My thought on that is "short of giving my first born child, anything is negotiable". I love my second born child but in a pinch...
  13. Selene - I do the same thing when MP shopping. However, I often like inworld shopping over MP shopping even though MP shopping is much more efficient. I don't know why that is. I am considering getting a therapist to help me figure that out. Grin.
  14. Belinda - I pretty much do my shopping much like you. However, I often fail in the "concentration and good memory" departments, Fritigern - I agree with moirakathleen about area search being a good tool for shopping, I am often in need of a good tool. Thanks,
  15. When I am in large store inworld (e,g, two floors with six rooms on each floor) I have trouble remembering the candidates for purchase as I work through the store. What strategies do you use to find a dress/hair/date-for-the-night-candidate (smirk) you saw earlier?
  16. Hi Zeta, Thanks very much. I see what you are getting at and will check out the demos. It's obvious that you spent a little time making those pix to show me. I'm impressed and appreciative. BTW, I love the dress you are wearing in #2. Can you tell me who the maker is?
  17. Sasy, Thanks so much. Bubbles sounds like the guy I need to talk to. Elora, Thanks for your response. Truth has always been my first stop when shopping for hair. They have a few retros but I didn't find any that did a good job matching the hair in the pictures of me and my BFF. If these were just alts the ones I found would be good enough. But this is me and my BFF. But I appreciate your response is right on the mark if I wasn't being overly picky on these two.
  18. I graduated from high school in 1971. I am looking for female hairstyles of the period. Pretty hard to find styles other than modern and Victorian (for role-playing). Attached is a picture of what I am looking for. The two images on the left are me. The image on the right was my best friend's high school senior picture. She tragically passed a few years ago. I would like to give her a Second Life. Any help on where I might find the hairstyles in the picture below? I assume there are custom hair makers out there. Any recommendations?
