  1. No, not at all. In RL, you have body language, non-verbal cues, eye contact, etc, to rely on when meeting folk for the first time. In SL, any avatar presenting as a 28-year old male indie DJ could be a 90-year old man or 14-year old girl for all you know. Plus the conversation's generally better in RL.And people wouldn't start half the drama they do on SL if there was a RL consequence, like a good hard slap :matte-motes-sunglasses-1:

Trust GD to come up with utter pants :matte-motes-sour: Amethyst Jetaime wrote: if you used accounts just to purchase $L's and then passed them to another account, that looks like money laundering, clearly against the RL law. Ludicrous. Loads of people buy Ls thru a main and then disseminate them across avatars / give money to friends / tip venues, etc. Amethyst Jetaime wrote: Your accounts are not be locked, they will be deleted along with any assets they have. Er, no. More alarmist nonsense. Macadamia - try logging your banned AVs onto Second Life BETA (you can access this thru Firestorm). Odds on, each AV will rez with full inventories. LL rarely completely delete an account; most ARE still on hold, so don't lose hope, despite what the email says. Weird that the email they sent you doesn't specify an 'offence' though. They normally make mention of that, so you can at least argue the toss with them. Good luck in getting your account(s) back! If it's any consolation, I went through the same thing once and persistence paid off and they restored my main :matte-motes-sunglasses-3:

It seems I have to move every year or two because of some reason or other like having neighbors who are a little too close and always online or the landlord leaving SL. My new place is pretty good. I have a few constantly online bots on the sim but they are a comfortable distance from my parcel. Other neighbors that are closer to home appear very rarely. I have a skybox so I'm not bothered by any prim homes except for other skyboxes. I try to find a good altitude with lots of free sky. Any mainlanders here? How is your mainland experience been over the course of your second life? Or is a private sim way better? Mainland is great I share a mainland parcel with seveal other people, next to sailable sea. The neighbouring couple don't like us (probably because we do a lot of scripting/building, including making weird stuff and playing around with particles and weapons) and theyeven stuck up a ban line up, but it doesn't bother us, as we've no intention of going on to their land anyway and they never come onto ours. If an annoying neighbour decided to put up some ghastly tacky build, we'd just laugh. Nothing to get upset about. In my view, people who want to be boring and isolate themselves should get private islands and not cause a fuss for those of us on the mainland who like random people TPing in and socializing with other residents
