They're supposed to be inside of the head but sometimes if they're edited and moved around, the tiny little boxes used will end up on the ouside and able to be seen. If you cam inside of people's heads you'll see the little boxes I'm talking about. wait those arn't the brains of SL characters D: ??
  2. Coby Foden wrote: Splatulated wrote: if you dont know what equip means its same as attach or wear No it isn't the same. You are just confusing people with your own terms. Why do you use them anyway? Ok, now for the texture change. I'm being nice now for a change. :matte-motes-smile: I changed texture on my boat: It stays there, not reverting back to the original one. Steps to produce: 1. Rez your boat on water. 2. Change the texture. 3. Take the boat back to your inventory. 4. Now you have two copies of the boat in your inventory. 5. Rez the new copy of the boat on water. 6. You're done. Your new texture is on the boat. This is how it generally works on any object. how do i take the complete boat back its two parts i dont want rez half a boat or will it rez the full boat even if i only take half of it ?
  3. Coby Foden wrote: Splatulated wrote: i then equipped the sailing hud... You didn't "equip" the sailing HUD. You attached it. Please try to use common SL terms instead of inventing your own ones. Thanks. :smileyhappy: Why it is good to use common SL terms? Lots of people are reading the forums. If they are new, they will be totally confused if people use their own invented terms instead of the common SL terms. So please use the SL terms, you make a service to the community by doing so. you sound like one of those people that think SL is more important than anything including family in real life its called a thesaurus if you dont know what equip means its same as attach or wear
  4. I bought the SSS hercules i tried to change the texture for the name on the back (its copy mod no transfer) to this i then equipped the sailing hud and tried to get going (didnt even manage to move 3 cm's and no one was online to help me with this and i know this ship works ive seen it a few times now) and after i clciked stand up the texture i put in place of SSS hercules was gone and back to the original texture :/

  6. but the doors are the type you just ghost through id like to replace them with ones that open on click and are solid ^-^ how do i find out last time creator was online ? cuz doors is connected to other stuff when i clicked edit linked parts for just one part of it
  7. Ariel Vuissent wrote: They both do the same thing? Then you don't need both, just one. Not having the outfit, myself, I would think the hood+ one would add something at the head or in the back of the outfit, but I could be wrong. All I can do is speculate. i was just removing the chest ruffles hood n ruffles have shorter length amount of ruffles and ciombined it seems more ruffley
  8. Ariel Vuissent wrote: Personally, I would detach EVERYTHING. Then go one by one adding each item. That way you know which pieces you need, which pieces you don't like, etc. THEN, you can make a couple of folders within that outfit folder, like "Extra Layers," or "boots," "jacket," "shirt." However you want to organize. That way, you have a folder you can just wear without having to go through this process again, and the extra pieces separate in case you want to mix things up. But, as far was what you're wearing right now, you can remove one of the skirts. If you can't tell the difference, it shouldn't matter which one you remove. The difference might be lenggth, or something else, so you can remove them both and then put them on one at a time to see if there is a difference. You may or may not be able to remove one of the three sets of ruffles you're wearing, or more than one. Not definitely, though. You have Waist, Chest, and Hood + Shirt ruffles. Are those all the same? They might be set on different attachment points, for convenience; or they might each be a separate item. Waist seems to be it's own item, but chest and hood+shirt might be the same. Everything else looks like something you need for the complete outfit. It's cute, so enjoy it! wasit is its own and chest and hood do this http://i.imgur.com/xSvdXyw.gif%C2%A0
  9. ok this is the list now i cant tell the difference between skirt A and skirt B :c and belt + sash seemed to be belt + the skirt minus the wavey strips so i just kept the belt
  10. Jazleen Raynier wrote: I don't condone this kind of laziness normally but Im in a good mood so here goes: Remove: Belt (or belt with sash if you just want the belt) Jacket L&R Sleeve Jacket (if you leave on Jacket, shirt L&R sleeves - 1 item) Hood (or hood and ruffles if you dont want ruffles) shirt sleeves L&R (you don't need them if you have a jacket on) Shirt (as there is one in the Jacket item) shirt ruffles (you have 3 lots on...detach the 2 separate ones) maybe A or B for the skirt (depending on what each actually gives you) When putting on outfits don't just add outfit, read through them first. As has been said with such complex outfits all creators (who frankly if they are making this intense costumes are neither lazy or careless) give you different options. I think you've been here long enough now to know this and wonder if you aren't just having a laugh at all those who help you. If so, laugh away... i dont even know this was me removing shirt with ruffles chest after removing hood and leaving on hood with ruffles http://i.imgur.com/xSvdXyw.gif

Tari Landar wrote: Splatulated wrote: is there like a way to make these item a complete shirt boot and skirt instead of useing up my equipment slots because creator was either lazy or wanted way too much customization ? The creator was neither lazy, nor "wanted too much customization". In fact, the creator here did you a favor, this creatore put multiple versions of the same outfit in the package so that YOU could customize, and not have to buy two versions of the same outfit. As others pointed out, you're wearing more than you need. For instance, if you want to wear the jacket and the shirt at once, wear the one that says "jacket and shirt" and do NOT wear the plain "jacket"(jacket icon) or the "peasant shirt"(shirt icon), as the "jacket and shirt" has both in it. The same likely applies with the skirt, there are likely two types of skirt in there, A and B. Pick the one you like the best. Unless of course A and B, combined, make up the skirt, in which case you would need both. A and b = the skirt and yeah i equipped the entire folder what do i need to unequip ?

  13. is there a way around this ?? like combining 15 items into one thing ?? i bought an outfit and its like this is there like a way to make these item a complete shirt boot and skirt instead of useing up my equipment slots because creator was either lazy or wanted way too much customization ?

Not likely, those are typically used to deform other people, or even yourself, but it's not what you're looking for, and there's not much use in paying for it in the first place. If you're having a hard time using the "stop all animations" to fix deformations, try either of these..(free, and none are mine, or created by folks I know, ftr..just sharing some info) https://marketplace.secondlife.com/p/Lindatool-undeformer-HUD/2126730? https://marketplace.secondlife.com/p/Stop-animations-Undeformer/3517231 The second requires you to be able to rez, the first is a hud. oh yay free ones ^-^ thought would cost me a lot and i was planning to get a boat and ultima hud 3 and drain my L$ to 0

Tari Landar wrote: Splatulated wrote: i clear my cache when i break my avvy and its torso appears where its legs should be this happens most often when i switch between my child avvy and my adult avvy a few times with in a couple of minutes but some times it could happen hours apart You could easily be causing yourself more problems than you need to by clearing your cache so often. It's really not even remotely necessary in this situation. All you need to do is use an undeformer(though they are also sometimes called deformers). This happens when your shape is distorted to fit a specific size, like for example when switching from a small avatar to a larger one. Often times, the small avatars use a deformer that makes your shape deform to fit the avatar parts properly. Clearing your cache constantly is a bad idea. If you're doing this frequently, you could very easily screw more things up than you fix. I am also guessing you do a clear cache from the preferences menu and not an actual complete cache clear, manually, on your pc. I'm guessing this because it's a little bit more complicated than clicking the clear cache button. When you don't do a complete clearing of your cache, you could easily be leaving behind bits and pieces that are compromised/messed up/whatever term you want to use. Don't clear your cache so often, especially not for a shape deformation, it's not necessary. And if someone DID tell you it's necessary, they are giving you terrible advice, I wouldn't follow it, personally. would the deformer spell packed in with ultima hud 3 be worth getting ?

  18. Coby Foden wrote: Splatulated wrote: Kelley Wonder wrote: http://wiki.phoenixviewer.com/cache nothing about why gestures un equip and i use singularity not firestorm Why do you clear your cache anyways? There are very rare occasions when you actually need to clear the cache. This applies to all viewers. Please do read carefully this section (thoroughly) in the above link: Clearing Cache: The DOs and DON'Ts Be picky about why and when you clear your cache. Clearing cache doesn't fix everything. In fact, it doesn't fix nearly as many problems as many people seem to think. And doing it when it's unnecessary has its drawbacks, including slower initial rez times and excess bandwidth being pulled, which can create sim lag. “Clear your cache” is something we'll recommend ONLY if the problem appears to be cache-related: that is, pertaining to textures or, once in a while, inventory. A full cache is almost always better than an empty one. Here is a basic “DO” list: When to clear your cache: When textures are not rezzing properly, you may choose to clear your texture cache. When your inventory is not loading fully, you may choose to clear your inventory cache. When you toggle the HTTP Get Textures setting in your viewer, texture cache needs to be cleared. A cache clear is part of performing a clean install. Note that often, only part of your cache needs to be cleared. While you can clear your full cache by clicking the button in Preferences, it is not hard to perform the needed part of the cache clear manually. You can find your cache folder by going to Preferences and then Network & Cache in Firestorm. Click the “Open” button alongside the path to your cache files location. In there you'll see some files ending with .inv.gz – these are your inventory cache files – and a folder containing your texture cache. More information is here for Firestorm. When NOT to clear your cache: Don't clear cache as a matter of routine maintenance. If there isn't something actually wrong with your cache, then this does nothing beneficial. Don't clear it for problems unrelated to the cache. It won't help for: teleport issues asset upload issues movement or communication problems most kinds of lag most kinds of crashes a vast majority of bake fails i clear my cache when i break my avvy and its torso appears where its legs should be this happens most often when i switch between my child avvy and my adult avvy a few times with in a couple of minutes but some times it could happen hours apart
