Your not though and you know your not.

I know no such thing. I think my questions, and several others, are highly pertinent to the job posting. People ask questions before taking on jobs. If you answer them once in public, you don't have to get the same question asked over and over in world.

You are choosing to stay glued to the screen. You have said plenty of times that you are done replying. Maybe take a break? Focus on your clinic and come back later?

  2. I do not think you know what that word means.

We have Therapists already employed who are perfectly happy with the amount. They put in a lot of effort though which soon sums up the L$80. They also earn from the price of the booked Appointments themselves.

Lol a counsellor is still human hun, yes we are trained to know how to handle matters. However I am not counselling any of you am I? Also, fyi if someone doesn't want therapy/counselling we wont push anyone into it, we'll just let them make their choice and let them know they are welcome in the future if they change their mind.

You've had a lot more to say then that. I've not disagreed with you either. I've not stated once that we will employ someone so easily without the experience or qualifications to do these roles, or the therapy role either (which wasn't even brought up on the post anyway). It's just an offer here, its kept friendly, I'm not going to justify nor explain myself as to why I've written this post the way I have.

So, there's a mysterious additional role that you didn't want to advertise in this post? What are the qualifications for the actual therapist?

No staff here diagnoses anyone. We simply provide counselling. The coaches are not providing counselling either. They're holding mental health, wellness, and meditation discussions. As I said at the start we are not replacing any RL support in need. Please stick with facts/evidence. What you are doing is known as slandering someone.

So, WHO is doing the therapy?

Also, why hasn't the application link been fixed? It's been brought to your attention several times.

And before anyone says anything, I went through that with my wife. She was undiagnosed Bi-polar, prescribed for depression and was so far down the hole the devil looked down to see her. One of her SL "friends" took her to a therapy place in Sl and the therapist told her to leave me, follow her dreams and move in with said "friend". I was working 60+ hours a week to pay the bills, keep the roof over our head and the kids fed and clothed. The "therapist" told her i wasn't paying enough attention to her and to leave me and the kids. SO yeah.. I have a bit of an issue with SL therapy. Yes yes, I know, YOUR therapists would NEVER do anything like that.

And yes, i reported them to LL and they were permabanned.

Wow!! That's an incredible story. Thank you for sharing it with us. That's exactly the sort of thing I fear.

I'm in therapy, and one of the tools used to assess me is things you have to see in person -- eye contact, fidgeting, speaking in a monotone or various pitches, etc. I just don't understand how online therapy, purely in text, can help people. Online support? Yes! I've found immense comfort and aid in online support groups -- places where I can hear from the experiences of others in a similar place. But paying someone for actual therapy?  I pay $30/week to see someone at the moment (though my insurance probably pays $100 a week for those sessions). I pay them because they have the necessary background and training to assist me. Now, of course, I will say it can be trial and error finding your perfect match. But usually it isn't a lack of education that causes the problems, it's a incompatibility in personality, goals, or approach.

This would be my suggestion for this business: Use only licensed life coaches. My experience with life coaches has been they are not there to diagnose you or dig very deep into your psychological issues. They are mainly useful in using as a motivation for positive change in your life. Getting organized, losing weight, studying more, etc. I strongly urge you to only use certified life coaches, but no one can force you. Another option is to use this as a support group instead instead of using a business model. Rely on tips, donations, auctions, etc if you are wanting to recoup some money.

No, but there are hundreds, maybe thousands of people who will see this post but never comment. Those are potential customers. The behavior they see from you in this thread will give them an impression of what they can look forward to by patronizing your establishment.

Is the way you deal with our enquiries about your credentials the way you will react to a mental ill person not cooperating in therapy (because this will happen)

This is really important. Often times conflict appears between patient and counselor. A good counselor knows how to use the conflict to their advantage in aiding in progress with the patient's therapy.

  6. I think the original goal of this post is long since lost. As sometimes happens on forums, the thread has gone its own direction. In my humble opinion, it's unlikely you are going to be able to steer it back on track. The damage is done. Respectfully, the best that can be hoped for is to save your reputation and the reputation of your business. Discouraging public discourse, threatening to flag, and having a generally negative disposition is not showcasing you or your business in the best light. I'm sure there are some great things about yourself and this organization. Maybe focus on those.

  7. I have a top end computer. I run at 4 LOD and very high graphics. But I care what the average Second Life user sees. But of course that depends on what matters to you. I also pay to live in a residential Sim and view it as doing my part to keep the theme going.

This seems like a perfect opportunity to mention how much nice stuff cheeky pea have ... and how useless it all is because of the complete lack of LOD.

Can't decide whether to hit "like" or "thank you". So I'm simply agreeing.

Not mention moi chez example... no, the other way round ... example of "set your renderLODfactor to 8.000 to kill your machine, but your last sight will be my furniture in all its glory!". Or perhaps I just did.

I agree with these two posts. I always turn my graphics setting down to medium and LOD down to 2 when shopping for home stuff, especially outdoor furniture. I hate these cute stores that have crap LOD. Stop tempting me!

  9. Out of curiousity and boredom... I’m curious as to other people’s ritual when it comes to trying a clothing demo on. Do you teleport someplace private? Do you change right there? Do you get offended when someone changes in front of you? What if they have underwear on, does that make it different?

Personally, I check my mini map and if no one is there, I change as quickly as I can and as discreetly. I wear applier underwear to cover my bits but try not to be naked

By the same logic, you personally are involved in a wide variety of illegal real-world activities because money from those activities enters the financial stream and will eventually make its way to you.

Did I hear something about SL being used for laundering? I thought I heard something about that years and years ago.

  11. Not all loot boxes require keys. In some games, you simply purchase the box and open it. You exchange money for a chance at winning an item from a strict list of possibilities. Sounds like gatchas to me.

A bubble gum machine is similar to loot boxes. Say the machine has five colors of candy. You exchange money and hope for the color you want.

Why are loot boxes being scrutinized but not gum ball machines? I’m guessing because gum ball machines are not producing millions of dollars worth of revenue. And aren’t being traded or sold for profit.

  12. I saw Avengers tonight (NO SPOILERS HERE) and paid extra for the Dolby experience. 20 minutes in, one of my contacts acts up. Uh oh. I end up pulling it out right In the dark theatre, pour some water on it on my hand and plop it back in ... still no good. I try again. Nope. This contact has outlived its time and has been acting up for days. I should have known better. After much squinting and doing the contact dance, I ditch the contact and watch the rest of the movie half blind.

i was with hubby and didn’t want to ruin his experience. If it was just me, I’d have asked to change my tickets.

Im still impressed that I managed to not lose the contact twice in an attempt to clean it in the dark. That’s some special powers right there.

edit: to anyone grossed out ... I had just washed my hands before the movie started
