  1. We tried and caught a property at Glistening Woods that is an exact clone of our log home we already have, what are the chances of that happening , same landscaping same aspect the region is an exact clone of where we are, but no Klokje. We only seem to get abandons during a release so we might not ever get a river spot. sigh

I already have 4 cabins I have kept as my contenders, still rolling , but mostly for fun. There is a clone type of region that they seem to have never released yet I want to try for that... and I wanted to try for a handful others.

We are just hoping for a place on the river that doesn't have the road in front of it and isn't a pond. I stopped looking because I found a unique cabin that faces the mountain with no road around it.  My husband is still looking for our river dream.  Meanwhile I built a little mini river on the other parcel. 🙂

Are you speaking only of log homes? If so, I have not landed one that was actually on a river or lake. I've caught a couple on high land where the river is far down below, but so far that you couldn't even see it from the house even though technically it was next to the parcel. Otherwise, nada so far.

Hi Sylvia , yes I meant log homes. We really love them and it feels like we won't be going back to the houseboats, trads, victorians or campers anytime soon. So we are really hoping for some lovely water to boat on.

  4. I was wondering out of curiosity how many people following this thread still haven't lucked on a log home parcel on a river or lake.  We ourselves have landed about 4 with puddles or very small ponds, and one with a long small pond, but no where to go with a boat. In other words no river or lake and heaps of double houses and landlocked parcels with water a fair way away.  My husband is only looking now as I settled on a parcel that looks onto a hill with redwoods in the back  and built our own stream surrounding it, to create some water for us.

I don't know why folks would abandon Bugaboo, it's a great region.  I just spent a try on it now, but got a different region.  It's pretty, but also, from anyplace in Bugaboo, you can "jump" a boat to either the water in the loop it's on, or in the BIG LAKE to its east.  That lake is quite sail-able.  In fact, if I'm not mistaken, it has a rez zone in it too, so you don't even have to save the LI for your boat to rez on your parcel.

OOps, looking at the map again, I don't think Bugaboo has a rez zone.

What do they look like on the map the rez zones. Are they the little islands here and there that will be converted later to re zones?  I've yet to see one in the log home area, I've been looking around quite a bit there this last week. Do you know where there is one ? Cheers

So you didn't like the Vic parcel by the sea that I especially helped you to get when I was releasing it?

Hi Garnet we loved that for awhile, we couldn't get our boat to slide down the hill to the water, so we will be looking for one right on the water when we get back to victorians. it was lovely while we had it , the views up there were peaceful. Doesn't diminish your favour to us in our eyes, thank you muchly. 🙂

I am quite sure that LL is not playing any sort of game with you. Getting a particular type of home is  a matter of luck and persistence and nothing more. Think about it: why in the world would LL want to torture you? Just keep an open mind and don't get obsessed with a particular feature that you feel you just must have. Sure, I like water, too, but what I got was a log home parcel that is NOT on a lake or river, and guess what? I gave it a fair try and I already love it!

Water ain't everything, and I encourage you to take a look around the regions with an open mind and see what else is beautiful about them while you wait to get the home you want. You may find that you want something else after all. In any event, none of this is worth despair, and I encourage you to take a deep breath and even put the land page aside for a few days if it's upsetting you this much.

That just happened after my mini meltdown, I caught a hilly parcel set up high from the road and three lovely redwoods in the backyard on a large hill, My hubby  caught a place on a little long pond. It did feel that way lol when LL lottery  gave us back a plot we had two hours before this all happened. Lol real or imagined that kind of frustration is hell at times.  Can't really wait and set aside the page as all the prime spots will be taken in a blink of an eye. We will enjoy the plots we have for the moment. After 3 months with the attitude she'll be right we managed to get a mostly ocean victorian but not prime spot ( that we gave up to find a log home ), that's a long time trying lol, so It can take eons, and people with a lot of alts kind of take a big chunk of what's there it seems .  Thanks for your reply and advice. :-)))

Eleanor mentioned it a couple of hours ago; I'm surprised the parcels haven't been taken by now.

we tried and only got a parcel we gave back two hours ago. we are feeling toyed with. I sent it back and my husband caught it two hours later, just feel like crying and I suppose LL find joy in playing these games with us. Loosing heart and hope, we are usually optimistic and looking forward to finding something lovely but after months starting to see a theme. there are the haves and there are the have nots.  Why can't they have more water, that's what most everyone wants. even if they did we would end up with dry land it seems.

  9. I'm on the verge of giving up well and truly after months of constantly getting mediocre plots and now being hopeful it would be different with the log homes and seeing most everyone on this thread constantly finding water parcels and us always finding none. We are just feeling hopeless about it. Actually wanted to cry when we once again got the same bland type place and everyone around us having beautiful water plots. oh blechh maybe just need a break and take a walk in the forest in rl. Congrats once again to everyone who found lovely water well and truly.

  10. My husband just caught a place in Driveby that he sent back because it was surrounded by three roads, and we also noticed that all the homes there are Linden Homes, nothing has been claimed there.  Wondering if it's a release no one is taking yet. hmmm

And now his next pick is a plot in Weavers Rest with no house on it ! The pick before Driveby was a glitch house in Ferned Gulch that had two houses on it .  Is this some sort of message and if so, from whom ?.

I think how Sylvia put it was actually perfect, and what Garnet is referring to...I feel the same. I can't watch chat that makes me feel as though Im losing iq points by the second, and I don't feel a need to tolerate being talked around in a clique situation. In the beginning it was nice, people could interact with the marvy Moles and Lindens, then it became something else . I saw some very judgy attacks on people who were just trying to enjoy the fun aspects of their SL, by some serial hypocrites. no less, lol.I peek in from time to time, but eh. I'd rather talk to people who actually have something to say.

I totally agree with this, that's why I rarely follow this group , they will just ignore people when they say hello on there. Feels like high school very cliquey !!

She means the Bellisserian Citizens inworld group.  If it were here, we could all read it, and I would not have said that we could not.

I just wondered if it was a different thread here in the forum, I know what you mean about the Citizens chat, they always talk like it's an exclusive club that a lot of others don't feel apart of.

In case some don't understand why I got angry, I'll explain.  It is simply not on for a Linden Lab employee to give out important information to a select bunch in a resident-run group. @Patch Linden, surely you understand that?  It is no part of our contract or premium account conditions that we must subscribe to it  Frankly, I can't bear to listen to most of the chat, anyway (which is why I abandoned it); it's largely fatuous and a waste of my time to absorb, but even if it were a marvel of erudition, it is still not an official channel.

I was wondering which log home chat she was referring to, is it here in the forum?
