  1. Hey Emma (Waves :matte-motes-big-grin-squint:) Yeah unfortunately it wont work in this situation. I do have the AO maps and they are very detailed and specific, pertaining to each seperate part, so no real way to intergrate that in the way you described. I think I'm boned. I watched a blender video and from my understanding it was something that the mesh creator needed to build into the object. But thank you for trying to help me
  2. That's because you can only apply one texture per face. When you drag your text/alpha image onto the face, you are bumping the other texture and replacing it with the new one. So what you would need to do, if you can, take the bottom layer texture into your editing program and apply the text to it there. Outside of that, you can place a prim which you have applied the text/alpha to, over the original object. That works okay for flat objects like signs, walls, etc. Not so well for organic shaped objects.
  3. So I am trying to create a texture change HUD for a chair. My problem is that this mesh chair shares face numbers with multiple parts, (i.e. the seat and the backrest are both face #2, the legs and the piping are both face #0) So of course that means I can't assign a particular texture to one face without having it effect the other non realated face. Any work arounds for this problem or is my project doomed?
  4. Thank you Chinrey, I found your comment helpful and yes I agree, after re-examining this kit, I really don't need all of the options. Another question I came up with is, should a texture change script be compatible with other scripts, for example Avsitter? Or does it matter?
  5. Hello forum folks! So I'm ready to start working in texture change huds into my products and I'm looking for some advice and/or recommendations. There are a lot of options available, some very complicated, some very simplistic. Where is the best place to start with selecting a script for a hud? Basically I would like to be able to change multiple faces on my mesh items, easy interface for the user, have it look professional and maybe be able to customize the hud to my brand colors and logo. Also are there any good tuts out there on creating your first hud? I'm a show me kinda learner so vids are always super helpful. Do you have a recommendation for a script that you have had good luck with? I was looking at this one, to be honest it looks a little scary.. https://marketplace.secondlife.com/p/Professional-Texture-Changer-HUD-with-Advanced-Color-Picker/5553203
  6. You know I tried turning them phantom last night and it didn't work but this morning it did! Weird!! Thank you!
  7. I've started doing a major mod on a building I purchased, unlinked almost all parts and then relinked them. Now I can't walk through the doorways. I believe this build is mesh or part mesh. Can you recommend some possible solutions to this problem. Thank you! edit: Did some trouble shooting, found a random script I didn't need in the build, deleted it, unlinked and relinked however the problem persists. I rezzed a new copy of the arched door frames and they are walkable, yet when linked they become impassable. Even when unlinked they remain impassable. The arched door frames are mesh, I think. Not sure if any of this helps but it's all I've been able to figure out atm.
  8. I am on Firestorm but I couldn't find this developer tab that you mentioned
  9. The umbrella animation only effects the upper body, the arms. Like I mentioned no one up until this point has had an issue with their AO after equiping the umbrella. And of course it does not mention what priority the umbrella animation is in the ad, so I am at a loss at this point. And yes, the umbrella contains the hold as well as an animate on equip script.
  10. Is this the mystery of the ages? No one knows why this might be happening?
  11. Hello forum So I have a customer that is experiencing freezing in her walk AO when she equips this animation... https://marketplace.secondlife.com/p/Umbrella-openclose-Atach-Animations-Boxed/1607801 This problem is not someting I or anyone else has experienced and I am not very experienced with animation priorities. How can I council her on the best approach to fix the problem? Thank you!
  12. Must have been an SL glitch. I deleted the shoes, relogged, re root prim'd them and now they work.
  13. Hello, so I have a mesh shoe template that I have textured and linked to my root prim. Now I try to attach them to my right and left feet respectively and they are invisible. However when I try to attach to some random part like left pec or nose they appear on the ground near to my feet. ?? Why are my new mesh shoes doing this?
  14. Looking for someone that can create a mesh representation of the pictured garment; a loose fitting light weight robe/coat, (in 5 standard sizes,) with space to texture in fringe. If this interests you, please inworld me for a chat. I can pay for an exclusive item or if you want to work out a deal where you can sell the item with your other MP items, that 's cool too. Thanks :)
  15. Thank you that makes sense. I appreciate the help everyone.
  16. Thank you Billybob. I do understand all that you explained. I guess what I was trying to get at was, regarding unrigged items, I have had unpredictable results in attaching them. For instance with this hat. I had originally tried to attach to the neck, but that resulted in the hat swaying around on the head. It wasn't until I attached to the skull that it started to behave the way it should. So my question is, why did the neck attachment not work? I have had similar unsatidfactory results with prims as well. For instance when I tried to make nipple rings and attached to the left and right pecs, they waved around and would not stay put. So there lies my delimma.
  17. Got it, problem solved. I was incorrect, original attach point was the skull. Once I attached to the skull again and repositioned it is fine and behaving as it should. So I think I understand that when I put the root prim into the non-rigged item it defaulted to hand attachment. But it doesn't do this with rigged mesh because, well it's rigged? Which still leaves me with the question, what are the differenced in attach points in relationship to the garment? In other words is it critical that you attach a hat to the skull, a necklace to the spine or chest, etc?
  18. Hmm, you know I had thought of that, but went back to check and the listing says it's non-rigged. Is there a way to tell in world? I have notecarded the creator but still haven't heard back. It's just frustrating because I'd like to put this behind me and move on with another project.
  19. Hello, so I've been working with this full perm mesh hat template, my problem is when I linked it to my root prim, (so I can put my name as creator,) it won't attach to my head anymore. I tried the attach to: body part and then edited it into place but it is still moving around on top of her head. Original attach point for the hat was her right hand, I'm also wearing a mesh dress with the same attach point. Also why can I link mesh clothing to a root prim and they still attach to her right hand, but this hat wont? Thanks for your help :)
  20. perfect, thanks to you both, I found that pesky little bugger, as well as a bunch of other stuff!

  22. tried relogging, no luck. I'll tell her about the sim restart. Also the parcel we are working on is deeded to her group, it's a club so she needs the djs to be able to access the stream. She put me on as a builder in the group but still no luck.
  23. So my friend has moved to a new sim that she has given me edit rights on, so I can help her out. I have been able to click on things to edit them, I can move them, stretch them, but when I go to select face it locks the texture. This is on everything including full perm items. On her old sim we never had this problem. Any ideas why this is happening?
  24. So my shop is in an open sim that has a regularly rotating sunrise/midday/sunset/midnight. I find it difficult to adjust my in store lighting to suit all these light levels through out the day. I've looked but unable to find a script (?) that allows my lights to dim during the midday and brighten with the midnight setting, an enviromental dimmer switch if you will. Is this something you make or can make? Lemme know. Thanks!
  25. Hello, Im looking for a script that will open this suitcase on touch. And also is it possible to have a hold animation? Is that done with a script as well? Doesn't need to be fancy. Oh also needs to be full perm. Thank you. https://marketplace.secondlife.com/p/Suitcase-Mesh-Object-Full-Permission/5841688
