    @ Madelaine - ooo, okaydee, I'll watch out :)

    @ Medhue - reggae helps..always, Marley is king :)

@ Ren - so, sitting helps, well, I'll sit a lot then hehe

@ Amethyst - well, home building then, hehe

@ Prierre - was that the one with 'the late' Robbin Williams?

@ Bobbi - that caging seems somewhat severe, if that happens, I'll log off and log back on straight in my home...

  2. Hi all...

I bought a small rezzing platform, the info said this

The platform has a small crate to sit on so griefers can't shoot you into oblivion.

Umm, what am I to underatand from that? How can griefers do that? I heared that sittig on a prim can prevent you from getting hurt. Is that the same in a safe Sim?

    Just...worried... :)

  3. Well, hiding as such is not the reason, I mean, if something does some..."thing", it stands to reason there is a script, no sense in assuming otherwise, and no sense in insulting the people in assuming they'd not be aware of the script. I just like the script to be non-editable, and (if possible) not viewable too...if the user can see there is a list of stuff (scripts, sounds, animations) in that prim, so be it, just...dont tinker with the workings and come cry that it's "bwoken"....

    Hehe :matte-motes-big-grin-wink:

  4. Hi all,

I try to incorporate a small piece of music in a prim, I have something, but, at 12Mb :matte-motes-agape: that'll be too big...

Two options: play MIDI (probably not possible) or let the prim play a tune from somewhere on the Internet...is that latter possible? If so, how do I go about that?

    Thanks

  5. Hi all ^^

Okaydee, I'm officially ... scripting... nothing fancy yet, I have too much yet to learn, still, some concerns float to the surface.

Can I make an object set so that the scripts inside are invisible to the user? I usually right-click on an object I like to see who created it, and some clearly are scripted yet the scripts (though visible as items in the list) cannot be opened to be viewed. Verrrrry handy stuff...

    So, how's that done?

    Thanks

  6. hi all ^^

The title says ia all pretty much. I try to create something where an object can only be used when the user (player) has/wears an object. For example: opening a chest when a key is held/worn. The object should be able to hand the key/object as well...but, that last one seems pretty feasable...

Granted, the example is somewhat silly: a chest that gives the key to open it...hmm :)

Is that possible? How would I go about that?

    Thanks a bundle :)

  7. hi there,

if I ever find something like this, I usually go in edit mode on that thing, find the maker/creator, pop up the profile and send a notecard (IM's get capped or ignored - these people tend to get a ton of IM's hehe) with that kind of question...

    Good luck finding the pieces

    =^_^=

  8. Hi all ^^

I'll try to build a house, not gonna be much, just want to try this. I feel that is you learn something, link it with a goal so you can work towards something. I like to learn building, so, why not a house...

However, I have set up a prim in my house and made it as hight (Z-size) as the inside, from the floor to the ceiling...FIVE meters!!! Wow, that is as high as a two story RL house. What is the norm (if any) of how hight/wide/deep a house has to be in SL?

I see about half that much as comfortable, but...I dont know the norms (again, if any)...

  9. @ ObviousAltIsObvious- yep, I opened a previous version, doors open magically there too, eh, I can be soooo blond... :) they did that all along, Oh, and ehm, Dres and Dana...THAT...was a secret...hmm, yep, were out in the open now...hehe, but...we're good witches :)

@ serotica - I did not really notice until I was at an in-world store with a dummy door in the wall...then it kinda hit me that some do open. Not an issue but a style break...and yeppers, Singularity...light enough for me...

Eh, just something I noticed, possibly something I (more accidentally than in wisdom) checked/unchecked in my quest for the "ultimate setup" :)

  10. Well, the ones I tried I had to touch (right-click and select open) to open them...the thing is that I sometimes 'in an RP) walk up to the door, turn around, finalise (last orders or such) and then (only THEN) open the door to leave, now they open if yu're close......eh, I may need to re-script the RP's somewhat, it seemed funny though... :)

Goed idea, that Singularity support...thanks :D

  11. Just a silly question - and please dont shoot me - but...it it possible to make a personal backup somehow? After all, everything is ON the LL servers, there is the rule of eight (Google's though, not mine) either a harddrive goes "kaputt" after eight minutes, eight days or eight months....bottom line, something breaks somewhere somehow. I for one hold my heart whenever I meet that disaster...my best feeling to the OP  for the losses...

  12. Well, the dot above my head...is that...a voice dot? O, well, since I NEVER voice anyway, I can take that off...

And yes, apparently, doors open up when you come near them...you apparently dont need to touch a door to open it, annoying...well, to me anyway...after all, this is not the Enterprise hehe - no offence meant to the Trekkies out there :)
