    This doesn't always happen, though. Some parcels go without even the L$ 0.5 /m² opening bid and return to the abandoned pool. The most recent one I found is from about a week ago, so it doesn't seem to be happening as often as it was for a while. No idea if this is a sign the market is improving, or the Lab is getting better at selecting parcels for auction, or the pool of abandoned land has so expanded that there's better stock available.

    (I wouldn't expect "better stock available" to improve bid probability at equilibrium. If it were a general trend that better land were being abandoned, that slumping demand to keep the land should also reduce demand to bid on it, eventually.)

    It could be that the land market is improving, perhaps in response to news that the Lab is pulling some Sansar developers back to the Second Life team. I don't know how fluid that staffing has been before, so I'm not sure this news is as meaningful as some seem to think, but markets can react to rumors.

    I'd have to agree, this includes word of the Lab switching their server hardware to the cloud like Sansar.

  2. Just to update this thread again after so many months, the following locations have been bought and are safe now.

    - ERMA (East River Municipal Airport) a small airport located in Brooks sim

    - Muirhead Village - Located in Muirhead sim this area has quite a few rental homes and a large garden area

    - Helvellyn Village - Located across the East River from Helvellyn town this area has rental homes and a vast garden.

    - Hardknott area - This is mostly undeveloped land with a wind farm, vast forest area, and a home.

    - Whinlatter Fortress - An old fortress right on a head water, amazing place for rental homes or any number of installations!

    That's right everyone, the land has been saved but that just means it is time to give East River Community a total modern day makeover! For those who still are interested in becoming part of the community; you can be a tenant of our many villas/shops, regular visitor or community member. Also, you are welcome to grab land around East River if you'd like, together we will make this community great again! Thanks again for your support!

    can there be a thought about disallowing "bump" up threads? It's disadvataging for other posters who's post gets pushed down without adding anything relevant.

    The forums didn't have this "abuse"  a lot before but this week i seen it several times.

    Enforcing bumped threads depends on if the forum has a rule based on old threads being bumped. From what I remember, Linden Labs may or may not have a rule based on bumping old threads or just spamming anyways. But as I said, it just depends on the community.

    So, started on the pages, again, and thought of another idea/request.
    Please add the tagline to the region parcel list.

    See here, this is my Time Portal region place page;

    https://places.secondlife.com/regions/3482/time-portal

    I LOVE that I can show a bunch of parcels and thus tell visitors of this page about all the things they can visit.
    Scroll down and you see all the parcels in this region, quite a few as this is a shopping sim.

    You may now understand what my point is.
    There you see the first two parcels (the only ones I've made so far) and all you get is a picture and the title.
    So one is called Newchurch and the other is The Ten Bells.

    That doesn't tell you much unless you're a history freak.

    And I want people to visit the region page and then pick a place to go to.

    So, what if you add the place pages tag line to the region page list of parcels?

    If that was the case you'd see;

    Newchurch
    Early 20th century furniture shop

    And;

    The Ten Bells
    Notorious pub in Victorian London

    You can now right away get an idea of what all these places in this region have to offer.

    As mentioned earlier, it would be even cooler if we'd also be able to sort them in catagories, but thats a different story :)

    Good idea Jo, I'd suggest making an issue on this. I'd vote for you honestly, but good idea.

    Oh the hand? I don't usually look at that list. My icons are all the same color.

    Yes, they go fully green when forums have unread posts. Then fade away when there are no unread posts to be seen in that category.

    Linden Department of Public Works, also known as the Moles. They are the semidomestic content creators emplyed by Linden Lab to create official content for SL, including games like Horizons.

    You can open a support ticket and ask them to tweak the settings a bit of course but don't hope for much, the Moles love to make their games cruel, unbalanced and unfair. ;)

    This is why their moles and why their called moles. She is correct^
