  1. It looks like, someone has trawled the continent (Heterocera) to find parcels with build open to all and Autoreturn off and then launched
a massive attack, as at the same time the junk also popped up in Agriopis, Itame and Obscure with some of it
    spilling over into neighboring regions.

It would not surprise me, that this junk also popped up on all continents.
So please, if you see this Goonsquad-junk anywhere, please file an Abuse report.

And if you own or have rented land, please activate Autoreturn (1 Minute) and if possible, set Build to Group or owner.

  2. Ok, this is getting seriously out of hand.
When I logged in into my parcel, I already could see part of this junk. Flying over to the Lida region,
    I was greeted with this:

    goonsquad_sm.jpg

Enough is enough. If anyone sees anything Goonsquad related, please please AR that junk.

  3. V3-UI complicated? Seriously?
I show you, what is complicated:

    ftdx9000d.jpg

And my little kitty brain has no problems operating one of these babies.
(Oh, and almost  each one of the knobs has more than one function. Not to mention the menu system...)

Concurrency is indeed going down, the statistics are available @ Gridsurvey, but if you would follow the international news,
you would know about the financial crisis and this affects SL as well. At the end of the day, there are more important
things than Second Life, things like rent, food and gas for the car.

The only point, where I have to agree with you is the last name issue. Doing away with the last names was one of the worst
    ideas the Lab ever had.

However, changing the user name is not possible, as not all processes are UUID-based. Unless that is changed, name
changes will not be possible, as that would screw up a lot of things, including inworld purchases, money transactions and
    content deliveries.

Sports? There is a source of hot air and other climate affecting gases, that is far worse than sports: Politicians.
Especially conservative politicians, Republicans, Tories or in Germany, where I come from, the CDU.
The idiocy these critters produce on a daily basis is absolutely unbelievable.
A billion cows cannot compete with that.

  5. Error 403? Isn't that, what the chinese government uses in their filtering system, replacing server responses with 403 & 404s.

Btw. I'm just riding the H6 Tour (Route 3 & the eastern SLRR) and I haven't seen a single one of AnnMarie's abominations.
I love it, when Kharma hits the right one. lol.gif

If the Lab has blocked the traffic, then they have the right to do so to prevent an overload of servers and network lines.
Of course, the problem could be on AnnMaries side as well. But it's good, being able to travel without being run off the road or
being hit in the head by one of these clunkers.

  6. A very nice picture and a very nicely designed avatar.

Speaking of modesty, I'm still wondering about Suspiria's problem here,
this pic would fly without problems on UK or German TV before the watershed time
(21:00 in the UK, 22:00 in Germany).
Would be interesting, where she has been born/raised or is living today,
that may shed a light on the reasons for the thread.

The landlord is doing the rounds regularly, something a good landlord should do anyway,
regardless, how the group/land is configured.

  8. Dresden Ceriano wrote: "What I don't get is why any landlord, or anyone for that matter, would have their land group set to open enrollment."

Selfservice Renting. Read the notecard, pay the rentalbox, join the group, start building.
No waiting for Group invites. If you need additional rights, IM the group officer for an upgrade.
That's for example how Ravenglass is handling this.

  9. The address is correct.
But as Charolotte mentioned, you have clicked on one of the adverts.

You have to scroll down on the download page, about 2/3 from top,
where the different versions for the different operating systems are listed,
there you find the text links to the file you need, e. g. for Windows it looks like this:
    DolphinViewer3-i686-Windows-3.4.14.27321.exe.
The download itself is delivered from BitBucket.

Btw, I don't see the ads, as Google Adservices, Google Syndication and Doubleclick are blocked
    in NoScript & AdblockPlus.

When real money is involved or the account is important for other reasons.

Ariel Vuissant wrote: "I DO agree that we could use some provisions to help prevent griefers, though. I honestly don't know what would be a workable system, however, that wouldn't punish honest users."

I know one: An AR-Team, that acts quickly (less than 2 hours in all cases).
In many cases, litter and griefer devices are still up a week after sending the report.
That is waaayyy too long to have any serious impact on griefing.

  11. The Linden-Land is clean, all LL-owned parcels are set to 5 min-Autoreturn,
when these things slowly move onto these parcels, they get killed one by one.

The source are 2 McDonalds Kids-Menu-boxes on a parcel with Build on for everyone and
of course: Autoreturn off. That parcel says 'Abandoned Land' but is NOT owned by LL.

I have AR'd the junk as well.

  12. Solstyse wrote: "if I didn't read a number of posts by people who went into arrears, I wouldn't even know that it IS a problem. But I've seen it on the forums enough that it apparently does happen."

    True.
If I ever need a premium account to own land, I would setup a second account especially for that
purpose only and then do the group thing with that account as group owner and my primary account
as group officer with admin rights. If anything would go wrong with payments, my primary account
    would be safe from deletion.

  13. Server Side Baking.
It means, that your avatar is no longer assembled by your viewer and then transferred to the sim server,
but instead by a service at Linden Lab's datacenter, reducing the load on the client, speeding up
and making the process more reliable.

You will need a new viewer for this, the still supported third party viewers and the SL-viewer will have it,
    when it goes live.

  14. Same here, when trying to cross from Zephyr into Velda, Velda doesn't rezz most of the time,
sometimes waiting works, or one has to go around and go in from another side.
    (Independend of the viewer)

Plus rubberbanding till kingdom come. And Logouts as a consequence.

And that old 'Diagonal Sim not rezzing'-Error is back as well.

@Maestro Linden: How about fixing these longtime issues instead of constantly rolling out new broken stuff?

This weeks rollout was a serious b0rkfest.

  15. Staralien wrote: "I keep hearing and seeing how people refuse to give a dime to LL, and yet you want to use their service for your own pleasure and gain."

That would only be true, if one does not spend a single L$ anywhere in or near SL.
I don't know, how much rebate my landlord gets, but I guess, from the 12 Euros I pay each month
in rent, atleast 10 Euros go directly to LL. Plus stuff I buy inworld and on the marketplace.
Inworld whenever possible to support those creators, that keep an inworld presence.

So could you and everybody else stop the crap about basic residents being freeloaders et al.

Btw, my reasons for being basic:
    1.: Basic accounts live forever.
    2.: I don't have a credit card.
3.: I don't trust PayPal. I wouldn't touch them with a ten feet barge pole.
