get mesh body and head creators together, and establish some frickin' standards!
Who's standards should they conform to and who would enforce compliance? Would the standard be two legs or four or maybe even tentacles? Would they all be 2cm, 20cm or 200cm tall or are starter avatars like Linden homes where if you want bells and whistles you have to go buy them from a 3rd party?

New users don't begin by sinking tons of USD into a "free" to play platform. 🤫

What are you getting on about?
How about we just make it 18+ and just trust people to manage their children like responsible parents they are and we don't have to worry about age verification since whatever could be done kids are smart enough to circumvent.

Yeah they should plain and simple. But parents think that checking in on their kids and see what they are doing on their devices is invasion of privacy these days.
So, someone else should be forced to do it for them? Maybe they shouldn't have had kids. 🤷♀️

Maybe parents should be parents should and keep an eye on what their kids are doing. Instead of using devices as a means of a babysitter.
Maybe they should keep them off SL too then. 🙂

A kid can get ahold of their parents credit card and use it to access adult content.
Kids can access pr0nhub without one.

They're not going to find people who hang out on their private platforms.

Guy carves out 1024 sqm parcels minimum out of such regions all the time. There's plenty of usable space in that region still.
Yet nobody is using it nor have they since I lived next door or will they as long as there's other parcels available without the neighbor's garbage obstructing it.

Concierge will never publicly admit it (I've tried several times on camera to get them to only to be ignored.), but they do have an unwritten eminent domain policy.
I have been the victim of it a few times in the past with tiny roadside parcels near/surrounded by land they wanted to set for auction.
And when you have your land stolen from you and engage with the Linden that took it, they will ignore you and any tickets you submit about it.
They may even put a warning flag on your account with claims of land cutting if you annoy them too much.
Good times...😕
Well, that pic was taken today and you can see it has a date over a year ago "to be consolidated" but in the state it's in now I don't know anyone who would want it with their neighbor's trees and fountains protruding into the parcel.

paying less for a product because it’s made in sweat shops
A lot of really expensive and high end items are made in those sweat shops too.

Another option I thought after I slammed the submit button would to put a "bad link" thing under the in world shop location slurl.
Much better solution I think. 🙂

Maybe report the link in a review or PM the owner in world?
Make it difficult and people won't do it.

Well, if someone is showing merch at an event, at least you know they're still in SL. The curse of Marketplace is items where you go to "See Item in Second Life" and it's no longer there. I hate ending up falling in space, or in someone's house, following those links. Marketplace needs a background job which checks those links. Scan the destination sim for the UUIDs of objects being sold. If nothing matches, the link should be marked as a dead link and the store owner informed.
Would it not be easier if someone followed a "dead link" to have a way to report it as such?

People often wonder why poor folks have so many children, when they are poor. And the answer is, they are in distress, their children die in infancy, they are needed as free farm hands, etc. So in my family we might quote the Irish stories of why they have 10 children, which isn't merely because they don't believe in birth control: 3 die in infancy, 3 become alcoholics or helplessly insane, 2 must be given up to the priesthood and nunnery, that leaves 2 that might work out and support the parents in their own age.
And the real answer is, because sex is cheaper than a trip to the movies.

Not sure why people don't use their own land
They probably don't have any as they're not here to "play" SL at all but just make whatever money they can however they can.

How many are real newcomers and if it's just a wee tiny bit is it even worth it? I think not or it would have already been done.
