  1. To have a Master Plan and execute it, you have to be extremely organized.  Nuff said?

As for the descriptions and keywords, there was a post on this thread over a month go entitled "I Go Crazy - Why is my Aquarium Marked Adult."

Whatever logic and rules went into governing what items fall into general, mature and adult - they're a mystery to merchants.  There should be detailed explanations, but there aren't (cause...um...that requires organization.)

I would look through your description and check to see if you haven't inadvertently referenced a real world brand name of some sort.  Other than that, I don't have any suggestions.  There doesn't seem to be a rhyme or reason for how things are categorized and / or banned.

Ok, seriously, I think Darrius captured what I was trying to say well.  I'm seeing progress which, to me, is a positive sign.

So I don't understand what any of you mean when you say the email option feature is not long available or that it hasn't worked.

I wasn't even talking about the email notifications....lol.  I probably confused the entire issue.  I was just asking, based on a comment by Deja above, how to be notified by SL when something new (like DD) is going to be rolled out.  Like, is there some box to check on the website somewhere?

    Sorry for the confusion.  :matte-motes-bashful-cute-2:

    I confuse very easily :-O

This was so not your issue :-P

    Thanks for the explanation though.

  4. Do you seriously think that LL's plan was to make MP so broken that people would go back to shopping in world?  Cause...um...the last time I looked or tried to search for a product to buy in world, in world search was even WORSE than MP.  LOL

I've been on SL a whole lot longer (years longer) than this av's rez date and I've watched LL roll out new features, new items, new viewers etc.  And each time, I've seen the same thing occur.  Remember when LL rolled out viewer 2 initially?  It came with the statement that viewer 1 wasn't going to be supported and that everyone had to migrate.  Viewer 2 was fraught with issues and had everyone running to reinstall 1.23 or going to THVs.  I might add that there are people who are still logging into SL on viewer 1.23.

Why is this DD rollout any different?

There is a very long standing tradition of trying to rollout with a big bang, reacting to complaints, problems, etc. that follow a big bang rollout and then spending months fixing what was rushed out in the first place.

So I'm not surprised and I don't think there is any real master plan to get people to leave Marketplace.

Well that's my two cents (L$5)

  5. OK, I'm confused, but what else is new? lol

I get magic box notification and MP delivery notifications to email.  That's how I learned that there was a problem - that a customer bought, paid for, ad received an item, but I didn't get paid.  Support has since resolved the issue for me.

So I don't understand what any of you mean when you say the email option feature is not long available or that it hasn't worked.

  6. I started this thread because it was encouraging sign to me that something (even if it is a small thing) was fixed.  It showed me that things were moving in the right direction.

I don't work for Linden Labs and I don’t' think that anyone who's made comments on this thread does.  While I do understand people's frustration - I’ve experienced it myself - and will say that my service request (my first and only) was turned into a JIRA by the support staff.  So, yes there are problems. Lots.  I guess it's all just a matter of how you look at things.

That's my two cents (L$5) anyway.

SO, outside of website being slow, how big are any of the other issues?

Well, the issue that I raised on the other thread (and subsequently opened a support ticket) for a customer receiving an item and not being paid for it was opened as a bug by the support team.

So I do think that there are a lot of legitimate open issues out there.

With this thread, I was just trying to acknowledge that there has been some progress.

    [ and... Josh... :-P ]

  8. LOL

Believe me, I didn't mean to imply that things are great now.  I just wanted to acknowledge that I was actually seeing progress.  To me that's something.  I suspect that the cross-linking issue is database corruption that they may not be able to easily recover from and may have to resort to correcting on a case by case basis.  As scary as that thought is, I can at least see signs that they're working on things - and, quite possibly - were doing so over the weekend.  Weekend work is a really good indication that the issues are being taken very seriously.

    That's my two cents (L$5)

  9. I just thought that there ought to be some acknowledgement of progress since Marketplace performance seems vastly improved today - and that's a really good thing.   can actually find and buy what I need as I used to and I’m hoping my customers are finding it to be just as easy once again.

So YAY and Kudos to the Commerce Team for progress.

    Cheers.

  10. I'm a little confused by the link that you posted because that doesn't seem to be my issue. For as long as I've lived on SL (and I'm SL older than this avatar,) this is my first time ever opening a support ticket.  From what I can tell in the support case is that LL has come back and indicated that what I reported is a bug and that it's been added to their bug tracker.

They have not, as you and other suggested that they might, forced through a payment of any kind.  I'm pretty sure I’m out the money for that order. I console myself with the fact that we're only talking about roughly two US dollars.

Onward and upward or some such stuff :-P

Thanks for your help for me and everyone else on this board.

    Cheers.

  11. Thanks for your comments, Marcus.

With that transaction, I'm out 500L, which is a nebulous amount.  The commerce team has posted on here with a list of known defects (JIRAs.)  I believe this issue relates to an open JIRA on the commerce team's list.

I just think that every new ticket or call to concierge has to be a distraction and I'd much rather see them work down their list and fix the problems.

Also, although this might mean breaking patterns of long standing traditions, I would really love to see LL roll out new functionality in a controlled (rather than big bang) manner - it's akin to expanding the beta test by limiting the number of users, but allowing them to use all the features in the real in-world setting.  And maybe - dare I suggest this - linden dollar compensation to those people who volunteer to be the guinea pigs?

Too late for that now.  Maybe with the next new feature rollout?

    That's my two cents (L$5)

  12. From the outside looking in, as I’ve not switched over to DD, it does look bleak.  In typical fashion LL did a big bang roll-out without any sort of consideration of scalability and performance.  There’s a big push away from in world shopping to the online MP and the performance has been severely impacted.  On top of that, they appear to have serious database corruption and I’m not sure that they can solve that with a simple reference check.  It is entirely possible that the data has been loaded such that the only fix is to address each item one by one as it is reported.  And there is the functionality or lack thereof.  With the magic boxes you can visually SEE what you’ve placed in them and update items easily.  When you upload to MP using DD, the items completely disappear, you have to “do the hokey pokey and turn yourself around” to update them – and that’s if everything were to function properly.

I saw your comments to Josh about waiting until the last minute.  I’m not yet sure about this.  LL has a long standing history of announcing that things are going away, pushing out the date, and then not really following through.  There are people still using the last release of viewer 1.

All in all, i suppose that there is a kind of numbness – a wait and see – that settles in and some blind faith that, given a year or so, they might actually make this work really well.  For now, it appears as it has to me for some time – the metaverse that they maintain seems to be quite a few steps ahead of them.

    My two cents (L$5)

  13. I'm curious to know what the other merchants are doing with regard to new products.  Are you holding them back and not putting up anything new on MP (whether DD or magic box)?  I'm curious because I’m afraid to release any of the new items that I have finished until the dust settles.  Am I the only one in a holding pattern?

    Thoughts?

The default behavior on this really needs to be changed so that if we upload a new folder to DD that has the same name as an existing DD listing, it will overwrite that existing listing. Manually associating the new upload is yet another example of too many clicks needed to perform tasks on Marketplace.

It is kind of sad that not only is DD a total mess, but it was rolled out with LESS features than we have with Magic Boxes.

But I'm with the others that have suggested that all of the other problems be corrected first.  Right now MP, even those like me who are still trying to sell via magic boxes, is broken.

    Darn, you scared me.

I thought you meant that Magic Boxes were no longer for sale.

Of course, that can't be long now.

It's important that LL block any new users from becoming merchants who won't wait until at least June for the system to refrain from ripping them off.

I just saw someone in another group ask for how to download V3 so they can start selling.  I rolled my eyes behind the computer, but didn't say anything in chat or to that person.  How can I really?  Not fair to say, "You can't sell cause LL has wholly screwed up MP."  Cause you know we're selling - well...You're selling - I appear to be giving things away for free.  LOL

Did you contact the customer to make sure they actually DID receive the bench?

I did try to contact the person but they were offline (roughly 2 hours after the purchase.).  I'm waiting to see if they respond.  My item was 1 of 3, but the magic box showed it delivered.  Not sure about the other two items from other stores.

I did test another item with a friend and that worked fine, but - it was a one item purchase from my store only.  MP seems to break when there are multiple items across more than one store.

This is the second time in about a month that i shipped something and didn't get paid for it.  We're not talking large amounts of lindens by any stretch of the imagination, but it's my play money and i want it. :-P

  17. I have a magic box notification in email, stating clearly that an item was delivered and a merchant order transaction listing page that says the same item wasn't delivered, no way to redeliver it and that I'm not being paid.  I have not gotten any "no reply" messages from MP in two days - I’ve only gotten the magic box notifications.

Thanks, LL, for the extension on the “have to move to direct delivery,” but… um … much as I love building and I do build and sell for fun – I like to have the lindens in-world so that I can buy the things that I don’t create / build.  You are eating into my shopping money and…

*shakes her tiny fist in the air*

    I have MP rage :-P

Any clue or plans for how you’ll actually be fixing MP (MB or DD)?
