  1. I have been having the same issue. The marketplace is incredibly slow, with the normal shopping experience and the beta format. It has been going on for at least a few weeks now and it makes the shopping experience terrible and time consuming. There is nothing wrong with my computer because everything else runs smoothly, if not great. For me Chrome is doing the same thing but I have noticed opening in a different tab works a little faster. It would be great if the Lindens would, at least, maybe look into this? :matte-motes-angry:
  2. I decided to try out one of these new mesh avatars that the Lindens are now allowing the new joiners to choose from. I have to say that I extremely like the idea behind it, however, (you had to know this was coming) I do feel as though there should be some major adjusting permissions allowed. You are not allowed to edit the shape of the avatar ( I understand new people do not quite understand how to do that when they first join, but still) so that it can be more customized. The shape of the current mesh avatar from the Lindens resembles a bodybuilding man, even if you choose the female avatar. Now this would be great if every person that joined Second Life ( man or woman ) wanted to be that. I just feel as though some editting permissions to the shape would be great.....just saying. Anyhow, like I said before I really think that the idea is awesome but not everyone wants to be stuck with the default shape. Thanks for reading! :matte-motes-grin:
  3. I think that it would be great if in the updated Second Life viewer would show my mesh objects and not show me as a cloud. I have tried everything from deleting cache to lessoning my graphics to trying to take everything off (which you cannot do if the viewer thinks you have nothing on) to editing my shape and appearance. Nothing is working with this new viewer for me. As a side note, I think with the new fitted mesh is a great idea and once more is known about it and how to use it and adjust things it should work out wonderfully.
  4. I am wondering why I have 2 recurring check card things on my bank statement for yesterday (08/15/2013) for $15.00 each? When I buy Lindens it says what I would expect it to but this new recurring thing just showed up and I would like to know what it is? If someone could help that would be greatly appreciated. ^ :smileyindifferent:
  5. I would like to apologize that this post most likely will not help but maybe it will get someone to look into it further. I have been having the same problem all week. I am fine teleporting and I am good with just playing around but every time I go to edit something I crash. I don't know if it has something to do with the updates that have been going on or what. But I have not changed my settings so that couldn't be the issue and I have tried to uninstall everything and reinstall it and that didn't work. I have tried switching my settings to download and install updates manually, that didn't work. It is becomming very frustrating especially since I love to build things. Also I am not editting rigged mesh so that isn't the problem either. I have a Dell Inspiron One with Windows 8, Intel Core i5 processor, 1T of memory, and NVIDIA GeForce GT 525M graphics card with updated drivers. I have tried my other graphics card option I have and that has not worked and since my computer is Windows 8 I have to option to use the programs in other compatibility modes like Windows 7 or earlier, because not all programs work on Windows 8 yet, and none of that has worked either. If someone could help that would be great. Thank you UPDATE 06-14-2013: Now when Second Life freezes before it crashes it won't let me leave the Second Life screen to even shut it down. I have to completely restart my computer every single time now. I am beginning to become extremely frustrated with this and I wish someone had an answer. I have had to restart my computer about 10 times now. :matte-motes-angry:
  6. I was wondering if Linden Labs has a plan to make a tile for Windows 8 that makes it easier to enter the viewer from a Windows 8 computer? I understand that Windows 8 is new to everyone, for the most part, so I am not complaining I am just curious.
  7. A land owner, that I currently rent land from, said something about the price of Lindens going up and that it could potentionally increase the price of my rent per week. I was kindly wondering if anyone had heard the same thing or what is going on?
  8. I would really like to own land some day, unfortunately I do not have almost $400 US Dollars per week to have it. Who really has that much every week to toss around? I, honestly, would like to know why land is so expensive? Someone makes it practically impossible for the small not so wealthy people to own land. I would like to establish a business in SL but have no room to do so or the proper land to do so. I know you can rent land but even then it is still expensive and it is not like I can go rent somewhere really small with little prims, I need the room and prims to build in order to open a business in order to make L$ in order to be able to keep up on the land I would one day like to buy. It is literally a vicious circle, you can't buy land without L$, you can't make L$ unless you sell stuff or open a business, you can't sell stuff or open a nice business unless you have land. I am just confused as to why land is really expensive? Update: Thank you all for responding quickly. Also I was exaggerating the price a bit but still for what I would like $195 is an awful lot and most times it is per week when it comes to private island sellers. Also, I have things for sale in the marketplace but I cannot afford the higher positioning of all of the ads so no one is even getting to my postings. And I understand that Linden Lab is running a business, however, it is not just Linden Lab, it is also the private sellers. Again thank you all for your responses, I truly appreciate them. :matte-motes-asleep-2:
