    If you would like to be considered for this event - please fill out this form before Tuesday, January 17th. We will select participants from the submissions and get in touch with you with all of the details.
    The event will run from February 1st through the 14th, and while we are not asking for an exclusive item, we are asking that your items be offered at a discount of at least 20% for the duration of the event.

    THE SNOW IS BRIGHT in the VILLAGE of LIGHTS

    It’s beginning to look a lot like the holidays have taken over a good portion of the grid. Everywhere you look, there’s snow, lights, and so many wintery delights that all you can do is sip a peppermint latte and smile.     Halloween festivities have come to an end, but one of the beautiful things about Second Life is that you can celebrate just about anything, anytime — holidays or otherwise! You can drop into one stop and see that Winter holidays are already in full swing, or pop over to a lovely tropical beach and absorb some sunshine. You can hold a group meetup with people from all over, crossing time zones and physical space, or take a solo stroll through a fair or shopping event for some new things.

    Hello ghouls and boils — have you braved the Haunted Halloween Tour  yet? It’s back this year with more frights and delights to enjoy. Just step through the door from Portal Park, hop in a coffin, and hold on for your dear life as you swoosh through madness, despair, and horror of unimaginable magnitude.
    That is just one dish at the buffet of terror that invades the Destination Guide at this time of year. There is something for everyone’s tastes. If you’d rather frolic in crunchy leaves and pumpkin patches — we’ve got that, too.

    A-haunting we will go! Last year we took inworld meetups and Halloween shenanigans and mixed them together for a frightful mashup of mind-blowingly fun times. This year - we plan to do the same - but we need your help to make it happen.
    Are you interested in hosting a stop along our Second Life Creepy Crawl? We’re looking for spots that will have music, are appropriate for general and moderate audiences, and don’t mind having a few Lindens and Residents dropping in all at once to dance and hang out for a bit.

    I don’t know about you, but I am a 365 days of Halloween kind of person. I go home decor shopping when others go party decoration shopping, and if I deck a hall, it will most certainly be with boughs of spiderwebs and clouds of dry ice. I know that lots of us feel the same and wish stores would pack up those Winter Holiday decorations for a few more weeks and roll out more spook-tacular Halloween treats.

    Tips for your submissions:


    Make sure that your submissions are appropriate for all audiences. Layout:

    The main content of your image should be near the center and to the right of the image - similar to the images you’d see on the Second Life login page. Horizontal images work best.
    Show your avatar or avatars in a scene inworld - an image that tells a story is going to make an impression. Keep your image free of additional text/logos. Higher resolution images work best. Check below for examples of images that we’ve used in the past. If you need a little inspiration - catch the Halloween spirit by ghost-hunting some of the frightful haunts already submitted to the Destination Guide.

    The Avilion Harvest Arts Festival will be held in Avilion Heart from Sept. 16-18 when it will close with a Literary Ball in the wonderful Avilion Ballroom. The weekend entertainment includes five plays, a poetry reading, ballet and dance drama, a back stage party, live singers, puppet theatre, fireworks and many other delights.
