As a landlord . I am in the process of adjusting everyones prim allotment up by 50%. If tennants want to pay lower rent they will need to move to a smaller lot. I was debating which way to go .. lower rent or raise prim allotments, and where I have no interest in stacking miles of skybox's, I had to go with the higher prim counts for the same price, otherwise they would have really been unused. I would say 75% of my tenants are thrilled, and 25% dont really care, as long as their rent does not go up CLM Rentals

Time for a new system
cedric2011 replied to cedric2011's topic in General Second Life Tech Discussion
Hi , and thanks for the reply. " I still manage to hit low fps in certain places," <- that is fine and to be expected. Currently I can run at 'high' with advanced lighting model, just no shadows or ambient occlusions, and mininimal water reflections with 20-25 fps in most cases. I enjoy photography and that is where my frustration lies. When I crank everything to ultra . my frame rate drops to 2 or 3 , perhaps 5 if there is nothing there except me . which can really make working with models or complex scenery pretty agonizing. current system is AMD A10-6700 16.0GB Dual-Channel DDR3 768MB ATI AMD Radeon HD 8670D The system I am asking about looks to run around 1200 USD , but I have not really shopped around, just begining my search -
And I am tired of running on an "adequate" graphics card. Would like to run in ultra at a decent frame rate under most conditions .. are these specs good enough? http_response(key request_id, integer status, list metadata, string body) { if(request_id == updatekey) { llOwnerSay("\n" + body); STATE idle; <--- add this } } That should work, but you will never go to idle if you never see a response.

The Lindens Should Give the Mainlanders a Present Too
cedric2011 replied to Prokofy Neva's topic in Mainland
I would be more than happy to do a buy down similar to what Estate owners now have. In my mind one of the only draws I am able to offer my mainland renters is a smaller rental fee per prim. With that gone . whats the point of mainland, with all its fun bonus's like clutter and horrid builds and griefers? -
Taxes question due to Second Life
cedric2011 replied to treto Priestly's topic in General Discussion Forum
Hi, If your in the US, talk to an accountant. The rules are fuzzy between a "hobby" and a "buisiness" , a hobby is not tax deductable, a buisiness is. -

Hi all, I have started messing around with mesh, and I am using hexagon / Daz to build the models and export to .dae file. I am running into 'problems' uploading though. I seem to be able to upload to "other" grids most of the time with no issues, and results look good . however here in sl .. 99.9 percent of the time the upload dialog will just sit there doing nothing once I click 'calculate weight and cost" button. If that does return with a cost .. and I click upload .. it sits there again . and usually I just give up and cancel .. but once in a while it does complete the upload. (And the models look great .. thats why I have not just said the heck with it yet :smileyhappy: ) Am i just to impatient and it CAN take forever to do an upload, or is there an issue with the dae files perhaps that I need to look into. *so far all the meshes have been simple furniture type tests averaging from 400-4000 Vertices. I have tried taking the waveform obj and importing that into blender and using blender to create the dae file (thinking it might be a daz thing and everyone recomends blender) but I get the same results. Thanks for any help!
