  1. Special Land Sale at Isle of Torment! (Adult Region) A whole corner lot, that's 1/4 of the region has just become available at Isle of Torment We need to get this rented in a hurry, so it is being offered for Half Price! That's right, just 1/2 L$ per prim per week for this parcel only. The price will remain the same for as long as you continuously rent the parcel and pay the rent on time. 16384 sq M NW Corner (1/4 region) L$3750/week L$15000/month. Because of this exceptionally low price, there is no discount for advance payment on this parcel, but I doubt that you will find a full bonus prim corner region anywhere in SL for a lower price. Limited Time Offer! If not rented by 1 May 2019, we will end the sale and sub-divide this into smaller lots, so act now!
  2. Region has been sold outright and is no longer available.

  6. You can get hosting good enough for this purpose for just $20 USD per YEAR! I'm my case the hosting is "free" because I just hang it off of one of my servers I have at my home office. I'm like Gadget Portal. I no longer want to rely on somebody else's server, other than Second Life itself.
  7. I have added the ability to view box locked, reserved and "not renewing" status to my web interface. you can get it it https://marketplace.secondlife.com/p/Zeros-Hippo2Web-add-on/14071630 This is an add-on, so if if you are just starting out, install my original version first.
  8. Probably not. The only Hippo Technologies product I'm working with is the HippoRent system.
  9. What product is your "Hippo updater" for?
  10. Here is my Marketplace listing for my home brew web interface to the HippoRent boxes. Zerotsm's HippoRent 2 Web system. Price is zero L$. I am offering this code under the GNU public license in hopes you may find it useful and not have to spend over L$1000 on a replacement system. Yes, you have to have knowledge of Linux, Apache, PHP and MySQL, but this code is not too resource intensive. If you don't have a web server already, you can rent one for $20 USD a Year. Yes that's Per YEAR., from several locations now. I'm using VPSCheap.net and nfphosting.com for various projects with good results.
  11. The Hippo Rent boxes still work In-world, you just can't update or view their status via the HippoRent web site. If you want to add a new box, or change the configuration on an existing box, you have to write a "Configuration Notecard" and drop it it in the box, then hit "Reset" from the menu. The "Rental Box Guide" notecard that came with the original distribution has the full details on what goes in the config notecard. I thought about migrating to CasperLet, but their system relies even more heavily on a server outside of SecondLife. What's to say that they won't go belly up at some point? So I'm sticking with HippoRent and I'm in the process of writing my own code for web access. At this point I have the boxes talking to my web server, so that I can view the box name, location, current tenant, time remaining and date first rented. One good thing is that critical info, like the tenant name and time remaining is stored in the description field of the object, which makes that data resistant to major crashes.
  12. Until today, the hippo-tech-sl.com web site for controlling the boxes was mostly working. I say "mostly" because it would not update from the web site, you had to go in-world and hit "reset" from the menu, then it would download your configuration from the web site. In other words, data from the server to SL was not getting passed, but data from SL to the server worked as it would accept commands and and the web site would still get status updates from the boxes. The one thing I do not like about Casperlet is that everything is done on the server. So if the server is down, your boxes turn stupid. With Hippo-Rent, the boxes will continue to function. If the web server is not back in a few days, I'm probably going to take the time and code my own boxes. I would store critical data (Tenant, rate and time remaining) in the box in world, but have it send to my server to keep track of all the boxes.
  13. For the past two days, I have not been able to view complete profiles from within the viewer. I just get the primary picture and links to IM etc. But the tabs for "Feed", "About", "Picks" and "Groups" are totally missing now. I thought at first it was Firestorm, but I tried the "Stock" Linden Labs SL Viewer and same results there. The profiles work correctly from https://my.secondlife.com
  14. Well, I just have one Zingo machine that helps pay for the rent and is a bit of fun. No way can I justify the legal expense of becoming an operator, so on August 1st, 2014 the Zingo machine either becomes freeplay or gets derezzed, unless LL changes their mind at the last minute. If you ask me, they should just change the age for access to a skill game sim to be 21 RL years and avoid the complication of looking up what state you are in. That would also elimiate the logic for the operator having to get the legal opinion, just the game creator. The games would be more expensive to buy of course, as the creator would have to recover the legal fees, but hopefully not real expensive as cost would be spread out over a number of purchasers.
