In case I come across something like this again, how would I go about reporting it?

You first would look at the Adult Content FAQ and determine if the conditions are met that allow adult content on a moderate region. If not, you would AR the land owner. In this particular case, "a house described as an Adult sex club" might be considered advertising, which is not allowed.

  2. The only restrictions I am aware of for Newbrookes are those in the Linen Homes covenant. Additionally, we have observed that sloped roof add-ons may be returned. There is a suspicion that changing the roof texture from the "asphalt parking lot" is frowned upon. However, flat rooftop deck add-ons may be allowed. Ditto for a rooftop garden. If you wanna park your car up there, please add some stripes.

  3. This post concerns the "BBB resident favoritism" and "Newbrooke slanty roof" issues and attempts to make constructive suggestions.

    1. If there is means by which a resident can obtain an extraordinary parcel in Bellisseria in compensation for service, please let us know where we can find the official Linden document that describes this process. If no such document exists, please create it.

    2. The covenant governing Linden Homes in Bellisseria is key to its success. After the stilt homes were released, the covenant was amended to cover stilt home related issues (e.g. "Privacy screens, fences, or other parcel perimeter barriers are not allowed on the water in the Stilt Home theme". Please further amend the covenant to enumerate Newbrooke related issues.

I would like to commend @Abnor Mole as the Linden who provides the most effective communication on these types of issues. (I have not been influenced by the fact that Abnor is good looking.)

I would love the smaller 512 homes on the 1024 lots even more if they permitted use of the full 1024 Li allowance.

Wish granted! If you have a 1024 parcel, you get 351 LI. Does not matter what house you choose. Any LI associated with the house does not count against the 351.

I'm not a fan of interior doors and I usually like my front door to auto shut and not like the interior ones to auto shut too.

My preference as well. In the Faraday, I leave all doors open except the front and turn off autoclose. I like the look of the Newbrooke interior doors.

Finally figured out the Faraday roof, I think. Added over the porch and back deck (5LI convex hull prims).

Going back to topic: is anyone using a 512 house in a 1024 parcel?

For me, a 512 Faraday on a 1024 parcel is the sweet spot. Only 5 rooms to furnish (one is huge and can be partitioned into two) and a giant back yard.

I think that headquarters parcel could more accurately be thought of as compensation for and future investment in the countless hours of unpaid labor that BBB members have contributed to community building.  They provide reams of useful information, they run the "passport" game, and throw many events - well-attended events!

OMFG somebody is sooo busted...  While we Newbrookers (tm pending) are packed 30 to a region in flat-topped boxes, a resident named <REDACTED> has benefited from Linden largess to the tune of a 1160 sqm parcel with 937 LI surrounded by an ENTIRE mole-landscaped Bellisseria region including both water and land rez zones (cue jaw hitting floor). Here it is.

The single Victorian home on this region houses the Bellisserian Better Business Bureau, which of course, provides essential services to the maintenance and well-being of Bellisserians. We are not here to judge the merits of pretend drivers licenses or passports... but to suggest that this looks bad... REALLY bad. It suggests that in the eyes of the Lindens (borrowing from Orwell) “All residents are created equal but some are more equal than others.”

In a related topic, the BBB employs an artificial-life receptionist who is required to work 24/7/365 and dress like a Hooters waitress. Also, everybody knows that the Belli Hammies throw the best parties.

The newer Themes -- from Victorian on -- allow you to specify your own colors via the home menu.  The earlier Themes -- Traditional, Houseboat, Camper -- do not.

The question is..... is any deviation on the exterior of a Linden Home (beyond the official choices) always considered "out of theme" and thereby not allowed?

I was wondering if anyone has tried other color options for the interior & exterior of their houseboat?

Apparently, since the release of the Newbrookes, the notion of recoloring/retexturing the exterior of a Linden Home is controversial. Is any deviation from what is presented on a Linden Home Controller menu allowed? I have no idea. Would be nice if this was clarified. The current practice is to do it and see if you get busted... but this seems like a bad process to me.

  10. Please give an official ruling about retexturing a Newbrooke roof to look like... yanno... an actual roof (rather than a Texas asphalt parking lot in 100 degree heat).

If an attractive copper roof is verboten... can we just cover the asphalt with a wood texture and call it a "deck"? how about plants? how about solar panels?

(no slanty roofs were suggested by this post, even though they make perfect sense)

  11. What I learned from binge-building my new Newbrooke...

These are not for boat people, full stop.

I only abandoned one house before sticking with one that was adjacent to a community pool.

The 512 houses on 1024 parcel option is perfect for me as the big yard gives you privacy. And there is a very complete fence kit.

Also 512 houses have fewer (small) rooms. I don't have enough (or prims) to fully decorate a 1024 house.

If you want a particular house... in your choose/abandon cycle make sure that you try out that house on the parcel. Some houses simply don't work well on some parcels because the deck/views wind up in a bad place. So find the optimal house/parcel combination.

I hated the roof as delivered so I rezzed some prims up there (linked. convex hull) and got a nice copper roof.

The parcels I have see are all flat meaning you can put down a prim and replace the ground texture.

Wanna see what I did? Look here
