  1. Holy crap. It works! Thank you very much for your help Christhiana!
  2. I thought I was at first, but it turns out I'm still using 2.70. I'll go ahead and update that now!
  3. Yeah, I'm in cycles render. Sorry for missing that piece of information out. The video you linked was great, I picked up a few important tips, but I think I'm missing a crucial piece of information, because I don't have a bake button at all.
  4. Hi everyone! I'd like some help with something I don't have a lot of experience in yet, and that's baking textures. I've created a collar for Second Life and I've added some materials that resemble latex and chrome in rendered view. Is it possible to somehow bake the textures as they appear in the rendered window directly onto my mesh? If not, are there any other ways I can use to achieve the same effect? Here's a screenshot of the mesh: http://img.prntscr.com/img?url=http://i.imgur.com/CZJwaBT.png
  5. I'm making a female AO with the Power AO from Akeyo, and I'm satisfied with everything I've added so far besides the standing animations. I can't seem to find any that I truely like, and it's bugging me! Most of the standing animations are really active, and have heavy movement, but I'm looking for animations that are more subtle. I may consider just using static poses as a last resort, but firstly, I'd like to ask if any of you guys know some places that may be worth checking out? I've really only tried Tuty's, Oracul, Vista and Akeyo. Though the mainstore for Akeyo seems to have disappeared, so I haven't checked recently.
  6. After Luck Inc closed down, what is the new alternative people go for nowadays that don't already own the product?
  7. So - I made some pants, then I parented them to the armature with the armature deform option. I then weight painted them manually, and I think everything turned out great. When I went to export the Collada, I made sure to check the "Second Life Rigged" preset as well. Basically, I think I've done everything correctly. The problem is that when I upload them onto the previewer, the Include skin weights button is greyed out. I spent quite a while trying to figure out the problem. I eventually decided to check my old mesh top I did a while ago, and the only difference I could find was that the mesh had all the vertex parts in it's group, while my newer pants only have four, those being the two Knee and Pelvis parts. Do you think this could be the problem? If so, how can I fix this and avoid it in the future. It's been a while since I've tried mesh, so I think I've forgotten some minor things. I'd hate to have to add them all in manually, if there's a way I can copy vertex groups, then I'd be set.
  8. Thanks for the info Rhys, your post has been very helpful to me, especially the video tutorial you showed me. I think I've got it down now
  9. Hello, just a quick question :) Usually when I buy clothing on SL, I recieve three sizes, small, medium and large. What I want to know is how can I achieve this with my own meshes in blender?
  10. Hey Sassy. Thanks for the info, I was only really getting this problem because I wasn't exporting on the correct preset. It no longer sits on my hand, and is now attatching as it should do. As for Avastar, I'm still not quite sure what it does.. I'll have to look into it more. I heard it makes the whole process a lot easier though
  11. Victory!! I've successfully managed to upload the mesh, and it's now sitting perfectly on my avatar. Sorry for not reading your reply's properly, I selected the Second Life Rigged preset and of course, everything worked accordingly. Thank you for your time Gaia, you've really made my day
  12. Hey Gaia, thanks for the tips, they've helped me out a lot right now. I managed to get rid of the small avatar that was poking through the neck hole and the deformed and stretched mesh by ticking "Selection only" and unticking "include shape keys". I also ticked "Export for Second Life" as well. Honestly, I didn't even know about this panel until now lol! The only problem I'm now facing is that my mesh attatches to my hand when I wear it. I'm guessing it's a rigging problem, so I'll have to try and figure something out for that now. On the upload model interface on Second Life, is there any specific options I should change that could fix this? I was sure I rigged it properly.
  13. Hey guys, thank you for taking your time to read this thread :) I've recently been following Candybytes rigged clothing series on Youtube since I'm a complete beginner to Blender. Unfortunately though, her guides are very outdated and require a lot of side tutorials to help me move forward. Having said that though, I believe I've taken in the basic knowledge and feel rather confident in what I'm doing. At least that's what I thought. I'm going to show you a few images of some problems I've encountered after uploading the mesh onto Second Life and hope that some of you will share your thoughts on the matter. Problems: The first image you can see a small avatar appearing from the neck area of the mesh top. I originally changed the top, legs, and head mesh to a male model using the shape keys. The second image is, well.. it's just insanely deformed. I'm guessing this is also partly because of the first problem. I had just decided to go ahead and upload the mesh to check the rigging. Anyway... If anyone would like to share their ideas, please feel free :) I don't plan on giving up that easily, and will be trying to find the problem by myself in the meantime. This is all very intimidating to me though, there's so much information to take in, I'd very much appreciate anyones help. Thank you for your time!
  14. Thanks so much for these links guys. I found Ashasejayi's videos to be the most helpful, since she went through the whole process. I am still a little confused about some things because her series is outdated but I definately learned a lot today. Cheers. **Only uploaded images may be used in postings**://whos.amung.us/swidget/vidraro1gu.gif" border="0" width="0" height="0" />
  15. I'm experienced with Blender and would like to create mesh clothing for second life, but I have absolutely no idea where to start. I've tried looking around online for any beginner guides, but they all seem to be outdated or not very informative. I want to know exactly how I would go about creating mesh clothing for SL. Would I need to import a defualt avatar and work off it? How would I export it onto SL? How do I rigg it? It's questions like these that have me pulling my hair out. Sorry if I sound like a tool. Thank you for your time :)
  16. Thanks for the replys guys. It seems some people do understand what I mean by Alternative! I've managed to find quite a lot of new pieces thanks to you all. Thanks, I really appreciate it **Only uploaded images may be used in postings**://whos.amung.us/swidget/vidraro1gu.gif" border="0" width="0" height="0" />
  17. I've been having alot of trouble recently trying to find some good alternative clothing stores. I've looked on the Marketplace, Designer Directory and inworld. Alot of the time, the stuff I find is either too casual, or too grown up for my liking. Some examples of stores that I've already taken a liking to are: Amerie, Sei, Buried, Grasp, Aitui and Tableau Vivant. Hopefully those will shed some light on what my general style is. If anyone could help me out and share some of their favourite stores that fall into the category of "alternative", I'd be very greatful! Some tips on shopping would also be great :) Thank you! **Only uploaded images may be used in postings**://whos.amung.us/swidget/vidraro1gu.gif" border="0" width="0" height="0" />

I really need to stop this.. there should be instructions on how to do this already. Can someone tell me what's wrong?
