    1/ Try turning off your AO (if used).

    2/ Your "dock" might be owned by one avatar and your new "alt" if such, doesn't have permissions granted. 

    Both problems I have with my main and alt's, lol.

    There was a TV series some years ago (BBC I think) - "You're amazing!". Probably a very similar subject, on all the amazing things about the human body. Might be worth tracking it down if possible Ceka.

    Andddd...if all that didn't make them run off screaming I don't know what will!  😆   Some great help from all the folks here but seriously, go spend a week on YouTube, type in "second life-free avatar" or "second life BoM". Visuals can be a lot easier to take in than text.
    To start you off, here's a video you might like to try to copy with your avatar. (as Matty said above, some things you need to pay L$1 for and it gets refunded immediatly, but you HAVE to pay it, so try to keep a couple with you when shopping. You can also ask someone to lend you 1 and give it back after you have the item.)

    Do you know who the "son of the morning star" was Luna? It's a good book about a very famous "white" 'icon'....who in reality was a total arse! I read it way back in the 80's. Look it up, I think you'd enjoy it. My "book learnin'" is adequate tyvm! I may not have been as intellectually educated or deeply read as Scylla, Seicher, Amina, yourself etc, and I may not be capable of getting my posts across as succinctly as most, but I don't "feign ignorance"! If I don't know anything about a subject, I'll "wing it", avoid it, or just keep my mouth shut. If caught out?...I'll hold my hands up and admit it. Like I said earlier, if subjects are too deep for my limited cerebral capacity, or just too boring, I'll ignore them or voice an opinion. Sometimes I get called out on those opinions, such as when Scylla pulled me up on my lack of "math" skills. In those cases I'll admit I'm out of my depth and stfu! lol.

    Anyhow, seeing as you're diverting from the fact that blacks can be just as racist as whites and everyone needs to work together with honesty before anything gets changed....Selene posted a photo of native american bodies after a massacre. In the vein of "it works both ways"...I posted the other side of the coin. I admitted after that it just "triggered" me at the wrong time and was "below the belt" and apologised to Selene. I have a habit of playing "Devil's advocate" on a lot of subjects and that can get taken wrong by many people (such as the post above by velk kerang for example, lol). It gets me in trouble...c'est la vie!

    a correction

    I was away from SL for 11 years, came back at xmas and all the changes terrified me! lol. I spent about 2 weeks watching all the youtube vid's I could dealing with "mesh" and "BoM". While I struggled at the start with Dano and mesh (mainly trying to match body skins to head skins and the dreaded 'cut throat' line problem!) I sent my female alt 'Jenna' to play with BoM. Mistakes were made, sure, but I found it all a lot easier than with Dano, not least due to many BoM skins applying body AND head skins as one! The only minor problem I've come across with BoM (eventually!), is that you can't change the opacity on make up. What goes on is how it stays on!
    There's a few little tricks to find out about, like "sweet's free nail fix", which will make finger and toe nails fit properly and stuff like that, but they're just a matter of a quick query on here or to anyone who uses BoM already.
    I even made 2 more BoM alt's after Jenna, mainly due to following "make a free avatar" videos on the tube.....so, if I can do it, anyone with half a brain should be able to!  😆
    You're women ffs! You're a lot better and more patient at this kind of stuff....get to it ladies!  😁
