Has anyone tried setting their profile to not show in search? Does it keep it off the web?

I would really like to stay positive on this. But really, sticking the LIKE buttons on MY profile without even giving me a way to Opt Out? Or better yet, making it Opt In? Does this mean that even if we don't participate in Facebook, that someone can "like" our profile and pull us into that miasma? Can we prevent this by setting our profiles to not appear in search? (I don't see a way to do this on the web profile.) I'm considering making my profile blank until the security concerns are dealt with.

I'm starting to see the new people come in now on 1.23 as "Mildred Resident" or "Herbert456 Resident" and then I see them in my transaction as just their first name like "Twinkletoes". But what happens if multiple people chose the name "Twinkletoes"? They can't have two "Twinkletoes Residents" and more to the point, they can't have a unique name for their creations, should they make them. How will that work? Or does the system reject you if you type in "Joe123" and there is already a "Joe123" as a user name? Usernames must be unique. They can't contain a period, and they can't be the same as an existing user's name with or without a period. For instance, no one can get the username "prokofyneva". Display names on other hand... everyone in SL could have the display name "Prokofy Neva" or "Twinkletoes". People could have parties where everyone has the same display name, if they like. Don't expect it to make sense.

Alt-LeftArrow is the keyboard shortcut for the Back button. Did that not work?

Radar in some TPVs also shows what viewer a person is using, so if the person was in a nearby region, they may have seen it there. If they were farther away I have no idea how they could tell. I keep it on all the time as well, although I don't pay attention to it unless someone's cross sticks on me and stays. I don't understand why other people using this feature disturbs you. To me it adds a dimension that's missing in SL, which is the whole business of glances and stares.

Regarding the new usernames - will it be possible for a new user to choose their last name? or will ALL new users be stuck with "Resident" as their last name? Can a new user choose a username like "Mary.Jones" -- supposing no such account existed already?
