  1. flashback tothe day before

    before the scene was cleaned.

before the lady of perpetual silence "mysteriously" disappeared

this is what the area looked like.

    Questions now

1   where did the mysterious brokli person go?

2   is brokli a secret killer who stakes out abandoned land waiting for pos buyers and then kills them?

3   who attacked marigold (it looked suspicious to me that that broad keli was cleaning up the area while no one was around or is she a red herring)?

4   is marigold alive or dead?

5   don't look at me. I'm broccoli not red herring :matte-motes-silly:

  2. Don't be sorry, and don't be scared. There's lots of crazy stuff happens in SL, and no one can really kill your PC, although some things might jar your graphics a little bit. Can you detach everything you're wearing? If this thing is giving you messages no matter which sim you're in, then it is something you've unwittingly got attached to you. Did someone give you a hat or a ring or anything you are wearing? They could have shoved a spam gesture into that. A free gift, something you picked up somewhere?

  3. Sounds like you've landed in a sandbox or a place where griefers can set their tools going.

Can you teleport away from that sim? If you can then do. If you can't then quit, change your starting location to somewhere else (Smith for example) and log back in again.

What is the name of the sim? Linden people need to know someone is possibly bringing a sim performance to breaking point with their device.

But new people shouldn't be having so much difficulty logging in. I would actually advise the OP instal an approved third party viewer like Phoenix or Imprudence. If OP is attempting to login using Viewer 2, it's possibly the reason why cannot login.

List of approved third party viewers is on http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Third_Party_Viewer_Directory

  5. Hmmm this sounds like something relating to the stuff added into the mix this week perhaps. If sims/servers have been reverted during the process, stuff rezzed, or transactions made, could have been reverted too.

Technical info can be found for this week's updates/deploys

    http://community.secondlife.com/t5/Second-Life-Server/Deploys-for-the-week-of-2011-05-09/m-p/862357

(Oskar Linden notifies everyone of the new things being added on a weekly basis - keep your eyes peeled every Monday for next set of updates due)

Also, if you think anything has occurred that can be attributed to the deploys/updates taking place, its always useful to the Linden people if you let them know on these forum threads so they can address the issues as soon as pos.

  6. Hi, Alyssa, it was good to meet you just now inworld.

It does look to me like the sim owner/one of the estate managers has switched off access to the sim, and gone away for a few days.  It is a good sign that the adjacent sim, which they also own, is still live, though, and I feel it was just an error.  As Peewee says, if you or your partner are Premium Members, it would be worth you contacting Live Chat to see if they can help you, but if there is nothing actually wrong with the sim, performance-wise, I doubt they will restart the sim (but it is worth an ask).

If the estate manager accidentally left the sim "no access" to anyone and then went on vacation for a week or two, all you can do is wait.  They should probably give you a refund for the time you were not able to access the land you rent from them, as a gesture of goodwill.

Please keep this thread up to date, because I'd love to know the outcome. I am sure all will work out in the next few days/week. It seems to be a genuine error on the part of the estate manager.
