Question

I am running SecondLife on a Macbook Snowleopard 10.6.8, and was able to log in just fine earlier, but now I can't log in at all. All I get is "DNS cannot resolve host name." Please help me.

And yes, I have already tried manually inputting these DNS settings:

208.67.222.222

208.67.220.220

I was going to suggest using Google's free public DNS servers, but the addresses you changed to will probably work just as well.  If you want to try Google's though, see http://code.google.com/speed/public-dns/docs/using.html

Sometimes the problem isn't really a DNS issue at all, but your system is perceiving it as one.  Try just rebooting your router to see if that helps.  Unplug it from the power for a few minutes, go make a sandwich, and then come back and plug it back in.  That will clear the router's RAM and let it get a fresh grasp on an IP address.
