Question

I recently filled 16 and wanted to try out Secondlife, but seems I am closed out, I am aware that this is most likely a tracking cookie of sorts, however as I have filled 16 I should be allowed to atleast enter Secondlife and it's mature rated locations, could I get some actual assistance or do I need to play Secondlife on a different computer entirely?

Hello Darca1n and welcome to SL Forums. Here is some infos about Teens in SL. Have a look at first: http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Linden_Lab_Official:Teens_in_Second_Life

Here is a resident supported forum. Only Linden Lab can help you, so i would suggest you to submit a ticket --> Account Issues --> (you can fill it under "Second Life Web Log in Issues"). Report there the error message you get, all informations about you and wait for a reply.

From the Knowledge Base article about "Second Life cannot be accesed from this computer":

You cannot log into Second Life from this location

This error message may also appear as:

  • Login failed.
  • Second Life cannot be accessed from this computer.

These messages generally indicate you have been blocked from the Second Life servers by Linden Lab as the result of:

  • Documented cases of fraud
  • Use of Second Life by a minor
  • Exceptionally flagrant abuse activity

Note that someone else in your household may be responsible for this activity, not necessariliy with your account.

If you believe that this is an error, submit a support ticket via the support portal. To help customer support determine what block has been placed and why, include in the ticket your Second Life account name and any Second Life accounts that log in from your location.

Your computer has nothing to do with your age if you installed Second Life properly. But no, you cannot access Mature locations according to the wiki. Please read the link provided by LoveAngel.

Teens in Second Life

Second Life is generally for adults 18 years and older; however, if you are 13 years of age or older you can use Second Life with some restrictions. If you're:

  • 16-17 years old you can access regions and search results that have a General maturity rating.

No.  Once you fix your access problem, you will be allowed to General (PG) locations only.  Mature locations require you to be 18.  And of course Adult locations require  you to be 18 AND to age verify.
