No, your friend dis not speak with us, we are not Lindens, this is a resident to residen forum, there are not Linden's employees here :)

Anout "send a new viewer" ... you can download by yourself any viewer. AFAIK Linden Lab don't "send" viewers.

About "unable to connect to a simulator":

1. Wait

2. See the Second Life Grid Status: http://status.secondlifegrid.net/

3. Read the Knowledge Base: http://community.secondlife.com/t5/English-Knowledge-Base/Login-failure/ta-p/700109

4. Are you using Wifi or Satellite connection? (http://community.secondlife.com/t5/English-Knowledge-Base/Wifi-and-satellite-connections/ta-p/1296823)

5. Search this Answers forum about ""unable to connect to a simulator".

I had the same problem and what it fixed it was this:

 

Go to your Start button and on the Run field type cmd. On the black window that opens, type ipconfig /flushdns then press enter

Type Exit and press enter to close the window.

 

And try loging in. It should work.
