can i buy a sim with unpayed tier from it's curunt owner?

I want to buy a sim from another resident who has not paid his tier sense march 2011 and I don't want to be responsible to his debt , so I like to know if I can buy it and if I can will I have to pay his debt and that of Corse something I don't like to do.

It's a privet sim and as strange as it sounds the owner talled me over the phone he stoped paying for it but the sim is still up and running.

he dosnt want any thing more then the transfer fee that dose not go to him at all but to linden labs but i like to know if all he sayed was true then when i pay the transfer fee then will i have to pay alot of money to LL for his debt as weired as it sounds i have no answer to this

Again i do not intend of "renting" the sim but to transfer it under my name as the future estate owner and not just another name in the estate manager list

Your answer at your provided link is good and logical that what ever he paid or did not paid linden labs regarding his privet sim is his own buisness and after the sim is myn i will take over the sim just from that very moment and all future payments and debt if ever will be my own.

Negotiating Region sales over the phone outside of SL is highly unusual. Region owners who are not informed about Policy is also unusual.

The Region owner could and should provide the answers to your questions. His or her time on the telephone, may have been better spent by calling Billing.

I suspect any amount due would be the last month's Balance prior to the Region going offline or being made unavailable for teleport.

There are many Regions for sale by Owners who will work with you Inside Second Life. These sellers are motivated to sell under similar terms and they throughly understand the Transfer process. Linden Lab conducts and monitors all Transfers, both Residents must submit matching transfer request Tickets with Support. 

I suggest taking your time in purchasing a Region, don't allow anyone to pressure you and Buy only when all your questions have been answered. The seller and LL should be working for your Business.

That's is true indid just know this is not a regular case as the sim i am after is needed not only by the prims on it but by his unique name and time it has existed in sl so people in that community know it.

I must have that name so there is no alternative and the owner is not SL savvy so handling the transfer is not without its questions such as why the sim is still up while the sim owner states he did not pay for it for a long time...

How can LL be sure that you are not the sim's current owner, and that you don't owe all that tier?

good question man and the answer is ofcorse that every avatar owning land has his or hers credit and real life info registered with them so they know who they deal with
