Interacting with an external server

Hey guys,

 

Advice on a new project would be most appreciated. I have experience with PHP/MySQL, but limited experience with LSL.

 

The scenario I am contemplating is this:

A user interacts with an object in SL. Based on that interaction, a script attached to that object sends information to an external server and is stored in a MySQL database.

The data stored in the MySQL database would then queried by another script within SL.

 

What would be the best method to go about this? I have read about LSL HTTP Server but am unsure is this is the only and/or best method.

 

Any advice/copnsiderations would be much appreciated.

not http server, you want llHttpRequest instead and from that call your php page to then do your mySQL

Basically the LL HTTP Server scheme allows a script to process communications initiated by the off-world server. Communications initiated by the script can still use a regular llHTTPRequest() / http_response() event pair
