I joined several groups for notices about MM boards, lucky chairs and whatnot and if group chat is left on for them then you get bombarded with messages from them. I usually use Singularity which it is easy to shut off group chat, but from time to time I like to use the official viewer and I'd use it more often if I could figure out how to shut off group chat.
