Airway
When I am notified of a new version of my SL viewer, do I need to uninstall the old version before installing the new one? Or can I just install the new version? I am using Viewer 3.Thank you.
0 LoveAngeL Lyre
Hello Airway. It is no necessary to uninstall the previous version. Just accept to download the new version. The viewer will close and after you can log in again. If you don't download the new version and assuming that you have your software updates to be installed automatically, when you log out, before you log in again the version will be installed automatically. 0 Peggy Paperdoll
No, you do not have to uninstall your previous viewer before installing the new version. But, it's generally a good practice to do it anyway. Some installers will uninstall any previous version before installing the new one.....the SL viewer installer is not one of those programs. Anytime you install something over itself you are subject to corruption of the new version (that usually does not happen but when it does, it creates confusion and often leads to you doing things that further aggrevate the problems).
