If I own 2048 sq meters and get SL free land

Thank you, I did have a message here at one time!!

What I wanted to know: I already own 2048 sq meters of land and if I take the free land deal that SL is offering. Does this change my tier and will I have to pay more?

If you already own any other Mainland, and accept the "Free" Linden home, your land holdings will increase by 512 M2, and yes, that could increase your tier. The Linden homes are only "Free" if you own no other land, because then your free 512 M2 allotment gets applied to the Linden home parcel.

Of the 2048 you own right now, you're not paying tier on 512 M2 of that. so you could still add a free Linden home, and not exceed the level that will increase your tier payment. But if you owned any more land at all, even a 16 M2 micro-parcel, then that additional 512 for the Linden home would push you over your tier limit, increasing your monthly fee from $15 to $25 (at the 4096 M2 tier threshold).
