Why did they add in all those custom options for sky timelines and daylight setting and water setting and all that if its not synced up to people who enter your sim...? its just stupid, its perfect for setting up RP settings or more realistic nighttimes. Yet its only client side... why?

However, with the latest versions of Viewer 2.0 and the new Viewer 3.0, you actually can set sim-based Windlight settings, and anyone using those nwe vieweres will, by default, see your customized settings. 

It only took the Lab's paid professionals three or four years to implement. While third party Viewers like Meta7 managed to do it in a month or so, with an unpaid staff.

With the adoption rate of Viewere 2 and 3 as low as it is, it will be a while yet before any large percentage of Residents can see sim-specific Windlight settings. But the TPV's are working on it, so it will come eventually to a Viwere that people actually are willing to use.
