Thanks for the clarification Ashasekayi.  I should have posted this as a "beginner's tip", which I meant it to be ( in which case calling it trackball rotation might add more complexity that beginners can find scary). 

I think more then the all the buttons and options on the interface of 3d programs, it's some of the terminology that defeats many beginners.  "UV editing", "specularity", "radiosity", "irradiance caching"...once we're in the swing of things it's easy to forget how daunting these terms are at the beginning of the learning curve.  And even if some of these features aren't used (yet) in SL, they loom over us when using the program, in a scary sort of way xD!
