Try disabling Vertex Buffer Objects in Preferences > Graphics > Hardware.

I don't think 2.8 works well with the Mac anyway.

After i turned off the VBO everything works awesome now. I have a higher fps in high settings. Im using a 2010 macbookpro version 10.6.8

I agree with Nyll. V2.8 on Mac sucks. I personally gave up and opted for Firestorm, which runs perfectly, until the V2.8 Beta is stable:
