How do I look up a SIM name from a SIM number?

Question

I have a history log from a previous laptop that lists the ID of all the SIMs I used to visit - at least I think it is that. How do I now look up the correct SIM name from this e.g.

Is there some sort of look up mechanism available?

There can be up to 4 regions per server under the current configuration. When a region is taken down and brought back up it may not be on the same server.   As a result, the sort of information you have there can't be used to identify those sims today.  Sorry.

There's no LSL function for doing that, so there's no way to script it. Even on the same day, the information you get might be unreliable. Sims go down all the time for routine maintenance or server upgrades, they crash, files are backed up and moved from one machine to another ..... Especially since regions often share servers, a change on one sim may affect others that are not even in the same virtual neighborhood in SL. The bottom line is that a region is a virtual entity (as you and I are, in SL), described in bits and bytes in data files. It's not a physical entity in a box full of wires with lights and buttons on it.
