I placed a couple love ball on a rug in my Linden home and now its lost I see the name but no balls.

Press ctrl alt T and you should be able to see them. 

Or if they are in the floor, press ctrl shft R and the world will turn to mesh and you should be able to see them.

Or you can cam around and move your view into the wall be looking at the floor then going sideways, your camera can go through anything. Left click on something and hold it down then press alt and hold it down also and move your mouse around.

Once you feel ok with that you can also hold down ctrl at the same time. 

Then try shift.

Left mouse and alt, or left mouse and alt and ctrl, and finally left mouse, alt, ctrl and shift.
