Chiharu Ochl
hi guys, so I´m a rl fashion designer and my rl husband is a photographer. We have a decent life but friends are encouraging us to start a SL cloth store. Sounds good to us, problem is we have no idea how to start. lolWe aren´t much of 3D modelers, but for example to start things with something simple: T-Shirts.I guess there may be something like a universal shirt template you can edit in Photoshop to add your own textures. But how do you import them to SL as a wearable shirt? What software do we need and how do we get it? TY
Claireschen Hesten
a great place to look is http://www.robinwood.com/Catalog/Technical/SL-Tuts/SLPages/AVUVTemplates.html and http://www.robinwood.com/Catalog/Technical/SL-Tuts/SLPages/RSW-TShirt.html the t-shirt template and tutorial shows you how to make a simple shirt once you've made the item of clothing save it as a .png or .tga with robins t-shirt template i have no problems with saving as .tga and using in SL then you upload to SL as a texture if your viewer does temp uploads excellent you can test as many versions as needed of the clothing texture before you commit to the L$10 upload fee if you're not at the stage to draw your own clothes from scratch using the avatar uv templates there are many talented designers that sell ready made templates and clothing textures on the marketplace so you can put your own designs and texturing skills on them
