How do I disable friend log on and off notifications?

I am using Firestorm and I can not find a way to deactivate friend notifications logging in and off. I saw a post very old saying it was in notification settings but it is not there for me. I have even set ChatOnlineNotification to false in Debug Settings and still I see everyone log on and off. I have to friend lots of people for work and the constant notifications are driving me up the wall.

Go to Preferences > Notifications > People and uncheck the options below "Notify me when my friends log in ..."

If you still want to be notified for only specific people go to your Contacts > Contact Sets,  create a new set and name it whatever fits you then enable notifications for that set only and add only those friends you want to get notices.
