Chiaroscuro Fantasy Parties - Every Saturday, 2pm SLT

The Chiaroscuro community is mourning the loss of our Prince, Greville Oh, who passed away in RL last week. He would have wanted the community parties to continue and together with the team of great DJs we have here, we will endeavour to keep them going for as long as is possible.  Chiaroscuro is a fantasy themed region and though fantasy costumes are not mandatory they are highly encouraged.

"Chiaroscuro" means the play of darkness and light so it seemed fitting to use this as the theme for this week's party. The contrast of pure light with its absence. Yin and Yang. It is an elegant combination but also a mystical one which connects us with both the Underworld and the Higher Realms.  We are unable to offer contest prizes at this time but costumes in theme (however you wish to interpret it) are strongly encouraged. Eth Tedeschi has kindly volunteered to be our DJ (he sings and plays piano too!). As usual, there will be post-party collages.

The Bollywood movie industry in India is hugely popular. It's particularly well known for musical movies, with song and dance and spectacular scenes. Costumes might be traditional or modern and are usually vividly-coloured. No costume contest but costumes in theme are highly encouraged. Rox Arten will be our DJ and we'll be using the Bellydance pavilion.
