How can I get started on my new home and I chosen my avatar and now can't find my avatar

If yes, are you in Advanced mode? You can change the mode before logging in. 

You can add comments to your post in Options---> Edit.

Hello hoku. You can't find your avatar? You mean you don't see it? If yes, ctrl+9 to reset your camera and you will see again your avatar.

When you say your home you mean a Linden Home? If yes, the following links include analytic instructions about it:

You could start by collecting items for your Home. In your Inventory Folder are complete Avatar outfits with different shapes and skin to choose from. You can drag an outfit from your Inventory folder onto your Avatar or select an outfit in Inventory by right mouse clicking on it and choosing Wear.

If you own a Linden Home you might want to visit the land, create a Landmark, adjust the Land settings and try to think of a decorating style that suits you.

SL has hundreds of Inworld Store that offer Free Items and free items can be found at Market Place just follow the Shopping tab at the top of this page. For some of the latest and greatest fashions you will need L$ but many of the smaller items that make a house a home can be found for free.
