Premium Membership to Basic membership: Releasing land

I am downgrading from a Premium Membership to Basic membership. I received a message that I must release my land before downgrading to the Basic Plan. How do I release my land which is a Linden Home?

First, make sure that you pick all your objects up (if you don't do this before you release the land, you won't lose anything, but all the objects will be returned bundled together as one single coalesced object in your inventory).  

Bring up the "About Land" window and then click the "Abandon Land" button.  There should be a 2nd box that will pop up asking you to confirm your action.

Thank you, I tried that but I will try it again.The Abandon Land button was unclickable.

 

It worked on the third attempt when the sun came up. LOL, LOL

If the button wasn't clickable, double check that you are standing inside the parcel (or if it's one of the older linden homes, that you are standing inside the home) before you open the "About Land" window.
