Drongle McMahon
Is there a way of scripting an object so that it logs region restarts? I am trying to tie down a bug in the Aditi mesh sims where I think meshes disappear during restarts, but I can't confirm that unless I know when the restarts are. Darkie Minotaur
You could in short intervals like 10 secs. call this llReuestSimulatorData and see if it's starting
Les White
They added a capture in the 'changed' event a while back. changed(integer change) { if(change & CHANGED_REGION_START) { //log it } }
Void Singer
in addition, be aware that generally aditi regions self clean... meaning they roll back to a specific state so that anything that affected it in between doesn't pollute results going forward... and of course crashes can often take recent items/changes with them, occasionally restoring removed items. you can monitor remotely as well with llRequestSimulatorData by polling DATA_SIM_STATUS, but I haven't tried it to see how effective it is. ETA: NVM I misread Darkies suggestion when I was skimming, which is the same.
Drongle McMahon
Yes. That's why I need to do this. Some disppearances have been of very long-standing items, while more recent items remained., So that can't be roll back, but I need to prove that. I think I might need to rez a marker item with a time in it and delete it's predecessor every hour, so as to identify the rollback points when there is a restart. On the other hand, no doubt there are server logs somewhere with all this info in them. Now if I could persuade someone to let me access those, it would save all the effort. :smileysurprised:
