It is pretty simple to understand this is not somehow becoming free. If your friend does not return it from goodness of heart, they should return it because they are putting their SL account at risk for a fraud/abuse report ...which would be very easy for the L$ seller to file at this point. Linden Lab takes fraud very seriously and there is a very real possibility here that the situation could someday lead to real life prosecution for your friend. It would not be the first time someone faces real life penalty for virtual crimes. Not worth the potential trouble, just tell your friend to complete the deal one way or the other...
