I would like to add my friend to access my linden home....be able to rezz furniture etc......How do I add him to have access to my linden home?

You need to set the land options appropriately.  The About Land (parcel info) window lets you specify public access or individual accounts which are allowed to enter the parcel.  Beyond that, the first tab of the About Land window lets you specify a group for use with the land (you can set a group, but cannot deed the land to that group).  That group is then used by the Options tab to define who is allowed to rez objects, and what will be exempt from autoreturn (if set).

If your Linden home is 'owned' by a group that you have created, add your friend to your group with rights (check the role) to do whatever it is you would let them do while in your home.  That is the easiest way to 'control' access.

Linden Homes can only be set to group, not deeded to group, so group roles don't count, but the group can be used to control who can rez and exempt prims from autoreturn.

You are correct. I did not use the word 'deed'. I suggested that they add their friend to such a group so the friend could activate the tag and do such things.
